# Pranav Angara > Principal Software Engineer @ Autodesk | Passionate About Building Impactful Products | Software Development, Cloud, MicroServices Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/pranavangara I am a principal software engineer at Autodesk with over 9 years of experience in backend development and platform engineering. I am passionate about software architecture, development and leadership. ## Work Experience ### Principal Software Engineer @ Autodesk Jan 2023 – Present | San Francisco, CA ### Senior Software Engineer @ Autodesk Jan 2020 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco, CA As a senior software engineer in Autodesk's E-Commerce Platform Engineering team, I've had the opportunity to work on projects that helped application development teams scale and ship products faster. Some of my major contributions include: * Designing and developing a Python based software development kit (SDK) that helps orchestrate and provision infrastructure for a wide variety of applications on AWS. This SDK reduced go-to market time for application development teams from 2 weeks to 20 minutes. Fun fact: this SDK is what helps provision infrastructure that powers Autodesk.com * Leading a team of 3 engineers to deliver an automation system to harden and keep all AWS EC2 instances compliant with Autodesk' security policies. Technologies used: Akamai, AWS CloudFormation, CloudFront, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, EC2, S3, Route53, ECS, & Lambda. ### Senior Software Engineer @ Autodesk Jan 2015 – Jan 2020 | San Francisco Bay Area I've had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects impacting Autodesk's e-commerce & digital platforms. * Designed and developed the backend for a user verification system for Autodesk's education sites that helped prevent $1bn worth of product leakage. * Built & launched Autodesk’s first ever progressive web app for the Indian e-commerce site * Designed & built push notification services using Google's Firebase API to increase customer engagement rate by 4 fold * Launching the PWA experience has resulted in a 50% decrease in the cart abandoment rate ### Software Development Intern @ Autodesk Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 During my second summer internship with Autodesk, I worked on a different platform and on a more web-centric project. I built a Pinterest-inspired web application that beautifully visualized customer submitted projects for Autodesk's Fusion 360 product. With a Java enterprise stack, I used a couple of open sourced projects such as Apache Sling & Apache Jackrabbit to power the backend services of my project. On the frontend, I utilized AngularJS, HTML, & CSS to dynamically organize the contents/interface in a card-like fashion. ### Software Development Intern @ Autodesk Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 Designed and developed a Java client library to facilitate application development around the AutoCAD as a service API. Using this API, developers can programmatically initiate AutoCAD drawings on the cloud. One of the interesting challenges that I encountered involved integrating Autodesk's internal authentication service into the client library. To demonstrate a use case for this client library, I developed a web-based DWG file generator application using the Play! framework. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Pascal Metrics Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 My internship project involved developing a data visualization application that analyzed clinical data and generated interactive charts for clinicians to examine. This project culminated into an active sprint, where I had the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers. One of the interesting features that I built involved converting the visualizations (SVG format) into PDF and Open Office Presentation documents. The technology stack included: Play! framework, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, and Highcharts. ### Founder @ A Red And Yellow Affair Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 | Blacksburg, VA A Red And Yellow Affair was a weekly soccer podcast service. A Red And Yellow Affair featured articles related to fans' opinions and any soccer related issue. • Designed and developed the website using HTML5 and CSS3 for the front end • Integrated the Joomla content management system (back end) with the website • Designed, recorded, and hosted weekly podcasts using Audacity • Maintained and updated social media profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and SoundCloud ## Education ### Master of Science - MS in Computer Science Santa Clara University ### Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Virginia Tech ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/apranav19 --- Source: https://flows.cv/pranavangara JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/pranavangara/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-30
