# Prelisa Dahal > Product Designer | Design + AI Intersection | CS Background | Human-Centered Systems Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/prelisa I didn't get into design through a design school. I got in through a computer science degree and a stubborn curiosity about why things are hard to use. After graduating with a CS degree in Nepal, I discovered UX through the Interaction Design Foundation and never looked back. I joined Leapfrog Technology as an intern and spent the next 3+ years growing into a product designer, eventually running 3 parallel design sprints simultaneously as the sole designer at times and collaborating with other designers across healthcare, fintech, blockchain, and HRIS platforms. That experience taught me something I couldn't have learned in a classroom: design at scale isn't about making things look good. It's about making the right decisions under pressure, for real people, with real constraints. Now I'm in the Bay Area completing my Master's in Computer Science at SFBU, and building at the intersection of design and AI. My current project is a platform for people with ADHD, helping them manage emotional regulation, overwhelming moments, and creative thinking. It's the most empathy-intensive work of my career. I also build AI-powered design workflows. Not because AI is trendy, but because I believe empathetic design is what keeps AI relevant and valuable. My CS background helps me understand what's happening under the hood. My design background keeps me asking: what does this actually feel like for the person on the other side? Core belief: design should make people feel capable, not confused. I write about the design and AI intersection on Medium. If that's your world too, follow along or let's connect. ## Work Experience ### Founding Product Designer @ DOSE Jan 2026 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Designing an AI-powered support platform for people with ADHD, focused on emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD), and creative thinking.
