Hello! I'm Premkumar, a college junior and an avid developer with a passion for teaching and software development.

I'm an experienced front-end web developer using traditional tools (HTML, CSS, JS) and frameworks (Vue and React). I'm also skilled at back-end development using MongoDB, SQL, Node.js (Express), and/or Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI). In addition, I like to dabble in data analytics (using Python) and develop software for embedded systems using C.

Knowledge is what makes the world go round, and I believe every bit of knowledge shared makes the world that much greater. As a result, my favorite pastime is working on projects to aid educational efforts in any way I can, and I'm always open to working on new projects. At Sprinter, I worked with other engineers to add a new in-home appointment service, developed an internal tool for managing technician schedules and availability hours, and designed and built an experiment to assess the impact of pre-appointment confirmation calls on patient no-show rates.

At Sprinter, I worked with a small team of engineers making healthcare accessible to all. My project was to improve the reach of our platform by implementing internationalization (multilingual support) for the customer-facing aspects of the application.

### Pocket Racers Project Lead @ IEEE Student Branch at UCLA

I was one of two co-leads for the Pocket Racers project at UCLA. My role entailed developing a Pocket Racer - a self-driving car that uses a Raspberry Pi with a camera to navigate a racetrack - as well as preparing a curriculum in machine learning, computer vision, and control systems to teach UCLA students how to develop their own.

At UCLA ACM, I was one of three training directors, officers whose goal was to expose UCLA students to software development by preparing and delivering a variety of short introductory workshops on web development and related tools. I delivered 7 workshops over the course of the year on topics such as frontend web development, databases and backend technologies, authentication and security practices, and common development tools like Git and VSCode.

### Software Quality Assurance Intern @ NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

At JPL, I completely revamped an internal lab inspection process to reduce auditor workload by 75%. After identifying flaws in the existing system, I outlined solutions and presented a proof-of-concept for each; finally, I developed a fully-fledged web application to address each concern, automating menial tasks and eliminating redundant steps in the auditing process.

At Nize Systems, I developed tools for K-12 schools and districts to facilitate student education, including attendance tracking, announcements, and remote learning management. For our work, we received an award from our district as well as coverage on local and regional news.
