# Price Terzis > Director of Power Systems Location: Los Altos, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/price Over 25 years of Engineering and Product Design, and Analysis experience in a diverse range of technologies from vertical farming, robotics and high power EV charging to re-entry aerodynamics, telecommunications and data storage. I have a strong preference for early stage start-up companies due to their very dynamic, frequently ambiguous, complex and evolving environment. This allows me to influence the establishment of a solid, scalable foundation necessary for quick company growth that can be able to respond to the coming changes and reach its maximum potential. I have been the nascent mechanical engineer for startup companies where I did the detail design and established the architecture that the design group used to build successful companies at Alteon Networks, PowerFile and ChargePoint. Currently leading the Mechanical team for a high voltage, high current power module at Electric Hydrogen, which involves significant structural and thermal design as well as power routing challenges. Previously a Principal Product Designer and Architect at the largest provider of public Electric Vehicle charging stations, and the largest EV network. Architect of the layout to electrify one of the primary London Bus Depots. Prior to ChargePoint I was a Director of the Platform Group at PowerFile leading the development of a rack mounted, robotic optical disc data storage library. Architect of an optical library to be 10x greater disc capacity and drive capacity per rack than any other on the market. This leap in disc density is due to new architectural approach I developed to the disc racking and compact robot mechanism designs and a relentless pursuit to make it work. Specialties: System Design, Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Aerodynamics, Thermal & Structural Analysis, Engineering Management ## Work Experience ### Director of Power Platform @ Electric Hydrogen Jan 2023 – Present ### Mechanical Engineering Manager, Power Electronics @ Electric Hydrogen Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | SF Bay Area Founded by experienced renewable energy technologists and backed by committed mission-driven investors, Electric Hydrogen is building solutions to help cost-effectively decarbonize the massive industrial sectors that we all rely on. At Electric Hydrogen we’re thinking big and with urgency to decarbonize the physical world. ### Manager of Grow Spaces Team @ Plenty® Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | South San Francisco, California, United States ### Manager of Vertical Grow @ Plenty® Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | United States ### Sr Staff Mech Eng. @ Plenty® Jan 2019 – Jan 2022 | South San Fransico ### Principal Product Designer & Mechanical Architect @ ChargePoint Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Cambell, CA ### Senior Mechanical Engineer @ ChargePoint Jan 2010 – Jan 2018 | Cambell, CA Design of mechanical products of the leading outdoor, public EV charging station system using ProE. Create new concepts to make low cost, highly reliable systems that can be consistently installed and operated with minimal instruction. Support NPI and directly interface with foreign suppliers and CM's. Manufacturing processes include injection molding, casting, extrusions, welding, and sheet metal. Additionally I perform thermal and structural analysis and some mechanism design in SolidWorks. ### Director of Platform Engineering @ PowerFile Jan 2004 – Jan 2010 I architected a 10x increase in disc density for the next generation of optical disc handling robotic changers. Managed the Platform team's design and development of a robotic optical disc library (jukebox) for enterprise archive data storage. Optimized the product development schedule and cost with a mixture of in house and out-sourced resources to reduce development time in our efforts to design a high availability, scalable enterprise data storage platform. I brought the unit to market in less than 24 months with this tightly coordinated cross-functional group of Mechanical, Electrical and Firmware engineers ### Senior Mechanical Engineer @ Alteon WebSystems / Nortel Jan 1998 – Jan 2001 Lead design of 2U to 14U gigabit ethernet switches. Responsible for all aspects of mechanical packaging including thermal and structural analysis as well as documentation and graphics design. Lead development of custom power supplies. ### Sr. Mechanical Eng @ Fujitsu-Nexion Jan 1994 – Jan 1997 Lead Mechanical engineer directing the team of designers in the development of multi-configuration ATM switch. The design is fully NEBS compliant, 1700W, 12 RMU chassis that could be installed in either an AC or DC powered rack. ### Sr. Systems/Mechanical Engineer @ Lockheed Martin Jan 1992 – Jan 1994 | Nashua, NH Structural design and analysis of antenna array on the F-22. FEA modeling results prevented imminent leading edge control surface failure. Integrity analysis included fatigue analysis, cumulative damage ratio calculation, and time compression for qualification tests, as well as determined NDI and HALT requirements. Design focus on high durability electronics packaging and airframe integration using FEM. ### Research Project & Test Engineer @ Calspan Jan 1989 – Jan 1992 Managed research projects; project planning, cost tracking and customer relations. Test Facility Development; Developed, managed and initiated plan to establish test envelope of a new $6 million free-piston shock tunnel for studying high temperature gas effects. Operational analysis determined 70% reduction in manning requirements and 50% reduction in turn around time of facility. Developed codes to model facility performance and heat transfer rates. ## Education ### MS in Aerodynamics Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Mechanical Engineering Worcester Polytechnic Institute ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/price-terzis-6866752 --- Source: https://flows.cv/price JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/price/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
