If I have to condense myself as a person and a professional into one single sentence, it would be this "I focus on the end-to-end design process for Enterprise Products with a massive emphasis on scalability while maintaining a human-centered approach towards my end-users" As a UX designer who is completely immersed into the enterprise world, there are certain harsh realties that we must first acknowledge before we dive into solving them. 1. Enterprise products do not receive the same love and care as Consumer products. 2. Users often feel imprisoned into using redundant software because their paychecks depend on it. 3. Users of enterprise software have clear objectives and no patience for experimentation. 4. We are still years behind in implementing a mobile-first approach for enterprise products. 5. Bad design in enterprise adds additional layers of stress to an already overwhelming workday. 6. AI should be used to remove frictional pain-points and create seamless workflows. My experience as a lead designer for multiple enterprise products that have served thousands of users across the United States have taught some extremely valuable lessons. As a result I've written the 8 commandments of effective enterprise design (updated for 2025) 1. Conventional business metrics have less relevance for enterprise products because users will have to engage with the system regardless of how they feel. There needs to be more granularity in defining KPIs that are more correlated to users completing their day-to-day tasks. 2. Designers need to integrate themselves into a cross-disciplinary environment where they have to get into the mindset of developers, data-scientists, PMs, business owners and even marketers. A cookie-cutter mindset incubated in a silo is not useful to anyone. 3. Quantitative data can be used to find behavioral patterns and validate user feedback. 4. Design systems are the lifeblood for sustainable and scalable design. NEVER leave home without one. 5. Legacy users FEAR (and I do mean that) change. A designer has an obligation to put their minds to ease. 6. Accessibility isn't an afterthought. It's a requirement and should be part of any design process. 7. AI serves as a conduit for automation and effective streamlining of the design process. 8. Pixel-perfection should be second nature to a designer. This is further corroborated by the effective use of a bulletproof design system. My north-star will always be oriented towards making sure your life as an enterprise user is made a bit more easier.
