Working in a start up, you wear many hats. In the development perspective, that also holds true. As an engineer I architected/developed new features, worked with product owners, fixed production bugs, created test suites and more. At Groundfloor, I learned how to ship product efficiently and learned about how to integrate technology with the finance.
A few highlights:
+ Architected and implemented 3rd party technologies, such as Slack, Mandrill, WebMerge and Salesforce
+ Created test suites and fixed production bugs; as well as serve as a technology consultant for product owners to create new features for GROUNDFLOOR's business needs
Technologies & Tools: Ruby, Rails, Rspec, Cucumber, ActiveAdmin, PostgreSQL, Haml, Git, Github, MailChimp, Slack, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc...
2015 — 2016
Having a career at an 'Enterprise Level' and 'Big Data' company such as IgnitionOne, where millions of records enter the database on a daily basis, I create SQL scripts and query databases to ensure data integrity, prevent and solve data issues. Coupled this with previous experience in technical client facing roles, I have a solid grasp on what makes a product work for clients in terms of usability and user experience. I also strive to make other's lives easier. I create automation tools for account teams to utilized so that they can focus more time doing what they do best - developing marketing strategies and building client relationships.
A few highlights:
+ Develop Excel macros to generate SQL scripts for account teams to use, reducing active work time by 60%.
+ Debug and pinpoint production issues cause so that the development teams can resolve issues faster. Some issues relate to: JavaScript / HTML tag implementation, UI, reporting, API, web services etc...
Technologies & Tools: Ruby, SourceTree, MSSQL, Git, Graylog, VBA, Visual Studio, Stash
In this role, I was one of the main technical resources for several clients and internally within the account teams. I served as a consultant for data tracking implementation and created processes to streamline the implementation flow by working closely with technical and non-technical teams internally and with the client. With my command of MSSQL and knowledge of the database architecture and functionality I was able troubleshoot data issues, debugged production issues and fix many of them myself, reducing the number of resources typically required to solve an issue.
A few highlights:
+ Led, managed and coordinated data tracking implementations and provided consultations for clients with over $2 million promotional spend
+ Technical lead for an digital marketing agency with over $20 million monthly media spend
+ Troubleshoot, debug and fix issues in production myself
Technologies: MSSQL Server, Graylog, JIRA, Confluence
