Have been working on exciting projects that include: Informed Personalized Learning (IPL) - Using robotics and technology to personalize learning at K-12 level. - Conducting research on connecting new and innovative ‘Learning Techniques to personal ‘Learning Styles’ of a child. - Using this research, conceptualized a system that recommends educational games and activities based on a child’s personal Learning Style. - Created information architecture, mockups and prototypes for this recommendation system. Human Centered Design (HCD) for Middle Schools - Developed a ‘Handbook of Design Thinking for Students’ with the purpose of teaching human centered design methods to middle school students as a part of the curriculum for fabrication labs. - In the process of implementing this project in local schools in Pittsburgh for testing and development. Ship Cleaning Robot for the US Navy - Human Interaction and User Experience for a modular autonomous robot for cleaning ships. - Conducted contextual inquiry, usability interviews. - Prepared documentation such as technical user manual and usability reports. - Conducted market research to propose additional applications of the modular robot for technology transfer. ### Product Development Intern @ National Robotics Engineering Center, NREC Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 Primary project as an intern at NREC was 'Grocery Shopping Innovation'. The purpose of this project was to combine techniques and knowledge from the field of design with robotics to create a system that enhances the grocery-shopping experience. - Identified needs and opportunity areas for technology to solve problems at home through user research, interviews, personas, user journey maps and other qualitative research methods. - Used robotic technologies to created interfaces for solutions such as: Easy planning for grocery shopping Systematic navigation through aisles and locating items Faster checkouts Connecting the storing and cooking experience at home with the grocery shopping experience - Pitched the technology implementation plan along with market and cost analysis to Whole Foods in Pittsburgh ### Founder @ Creo DesignWorks Jan 2010 – Jan 2014 | New Delhi Area, India Creo Design Works is a design studio that I founded with a dream to create socially responsible products. Worked on the following projects: CreH2O: Water Purifier for Rural Areas - Designed and developed a water purification device in India to fit the lifestyle of people living in the rural areas based on in depth research on their behaviors, traditions and customs. - Conceptualized solutions created working prototypes - Extensive testing of prototypes in a NABL certified lab showed a reduction in bacteria upto 9 logs. Exhibition Stand for Hero MotoCorp: - Design Exhibit and user experience for MotoCorp at the renowned EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan which had over half a million visitors - In addition to design and development, successfully handled project management activities such as setting up timelines, budgets, logistics, vendors, suppliers, interactive media, hostesses, press, etc. Graphic Design for companies such as CK Birla, SAB Miller, etc ### Author @ Inhabitat.com Jan 2012 – Jan 2013 Inhabitat.com is a weblog devoted to design for a smarter and more sustainable future. Inhabitat helped me fuel my passion for writing, design, travel and photography. As a freelance author, I published over 50 articles about ‘sustainable design’, reaching more than 900 K followers. I also travelled to Italy to cover the Milan Design Week in 2012, scouting for innovative green design stories. ### Design Executive @ Incubis Consultants Pvt Ltd Jan 2009 – Jan 2010 Incubis is one of India's leading design and architecture consultancies. While working on various projects for retail and commercial spaces, I was responsible for conceptualizing the design and detailing, user experience, project management and client interfacing. Key projects include: PepsiCo : Design and developed of Interactive beverage kiosks at various locations like airports, malls, etc. Unilever: Designed and developed beauty salons for Unilever’s Indian brand Lakme. Created a roll out plan manual to standardize the design and brand guidelines to design upto 50 stores around the country.
