Utilizing the Google Cardboard API to build an Android app that helps visualize three-dimensional atomic lattices and use head-tracking to change the perspective so that the user can move the smartphone in order to navigate the crystal structure of materials. By visualizing this data using stereoscopic projection, the app will convey a three-dimensional experience to the user, leading to an "augmented-reality" device. The app will also supplement the crystal structure by the electron density of materials (volume data that we can easily extract from simulations) in order to illustrate and explain the quantum mechanics of modern materials to the general public.
