# Raj Mirajkar > Product Design Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/rajmirajkar /* I am a US Citizen and I do not need any Sponsorship! */ I am a passionate problem solver and currently looking for my next design opportunity. For me, the design is strategically creating thoughtful solutions while explaining the different perspectives of the users in focus. I like to look at the intentionality behind every design decision that is made. It’s not just about being able to execute using a single established design process, but it is more about utilizing different methods and frameworks to get to the most thoughtful solution. It’s essential to look at design beyond the surface! My education in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science, coupled with my proven skills in designing for various mediums, combine to offer a solid foundation to be a great UX connoisseur. Passionate: Leading projects from a UX standpoint, Design (Conceptualization, Interactive Prototyping/ Interaction Design), Customer Journey Maps Eager: User Research, Usability Testing I would like to work with designers and engineers who enjoy thinking out of the box in order to build creative products and solutions. Specialties: Interaction Design (Web & Mobile Experience), Usability, Information Architecture, Customer / User Research, Product Definition & Development, Agile Methodologies, ## Work Experience ### Product Design at Staples @ Staples Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area ### Sr. Staff Product Design @ Moderne Jan 2025 – Jan 2025 | San Francisco Bay Area Proud to have played a key role in designing Moddy, Moderne.io's revolutionary AI agent. As a Product Designer, I spearheaded the conversational UX and interaction design, focusing on creating a seamless, trustworthy experience for developers. From initial concept to launch, I leveraged my expertise in user research, prototyping, and iterative design to ensure Moddy delivers actionable insights at the right time. • Designed key user interfaces and interaction flows for Moddy, Moderne's multi-repo AI agent. • Focused on creating a conversational UX that simplifies AI-driven code transformation. • Collaborated with engineers and product managers to define user needs and translate them into effective design solutions. • Conducted user research and usability testing to iterate on designs and improve user experience. • Contributed to the development of design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across products. ### Staff Product Designer @ Broadcom Jan 2023 – Jan 2025 | United States **VMware WAS ACQUIRED BY BROADCOM IN NOVEMBER 2023** Tanzu Application Platform (TAP): Choreographer • I owned the end-to-end design for the Supply Chain Choreographer in TAP, a developer-focused tool that simplifies CI/CD pipelines for application operators and developers without deep Kubernetes expertise. • Enabled developers and app operators to visually define and manage CI/CD paths to production via API-powered workflows without understanding dense knowledge on Google Cloud-native Kubernetes environments. Also, presented usability findings and roadmap recommendations to cross-functional leadership including PM, Engineering, and Design, helping prioritize platform investments. • As a result of this work, lead time for code changes was reduced by 50%, and deployment frequency tripled — going from 1 to 3 deployments per week. I drove this outcome by conducting generative research to identify pain points, translating findings into roadmap priorities, and delivering user-centered designs that accelerated release cycles and improved platform adoption. Virtual Storage Network (vSAN) Recognizing the critical need for VI Admins to independently resolve vSAN issues, I led the design of a troubleshooting dashboard. This initiative empowered VI Admins to proactively identify and address problems, resulting in a 42% decrease in triggered alerts and a 16% reduction in Global Support Services (GSS) tickets—substantially easing the overall support burden. ### Senior Product Designer @ VMware Jan 2020 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco Bay Area ### UX Instructor (Part Time) @ UC Berkeley Extension Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Berkeley, California I love giving back to the community and this is one of the outlets for expressing it. Encouraged multiple discussions with key players to talk about the bigger picture of how RBAC fits into the regular usage of Mode critical functionality across the wider customer ecosystem. • Hands-on strategic designer ensuring delivery of meaningful user experiences while achieving business objectives; Leads design process and collaborates with other design leads to develop global design standards. • Championed for the creation of a 'Proactive Design Board' consisting of designers, product, and engineers to discuss work items.
