Project Title: High-throughput robotic system for wafer-scale characterization of photonic waveguides
Mentor: Professor Maysam Chamanzar
• Developed software tools in Python to automate the characterization of optical waveguides for use in bi-directional neural probes
• Created a program to automatically detect intensity loss in a micron-scale optical waveguide from image scans along the length of the waveguide, using image stitching and computer vision techniques
• Integrated a micro-manipulator, motor and camera hardware into a responsive user interface with low latency for real-time characterization
• Presented Research posters at the Next Manufacturing research expo in July 2018 and Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering Forum in September 2018
• Co-authored a conference paper that appeared in CLEO 2019
• First author of a paper at EMBC 2021 and co-author of another paper
