Developed an algorithm for quantum approximate counting using only non-adaptive Grover iterations, that achieves optimal query complexity. Paper accepted at STACS 2021, where I gave a talk about this work. Presented a poster about it at QIP 2021. 2. Found a short proof of Gao's Quantum Union Bound and Gentle Sequential Measurement theorems. Paper was accepted and presented at SOSA 2022. Also presented the work at CMU's Meeting of the Minds undergraduate research symposium. Paper available on arXiv. ### Undergraduate Student Researcher @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | Carnegie Mellon University Project Title: High-throughput robotic system for wafer-scale characterization of photonic waveguides Mentor: Professor Maysam Chamanzar - Developed software tools in Python to automate the characterization of optical waveguides for use in bi-directional neural probes - Created a program to automatically detect intensity loss in a micron-scale optical waveguide from image scans along the length of the waveguide, using image stitching and computer vision techniques - Integrated a micro-manipulator, motor and camera hardware into a responsive user interface with low latency for real-time characterization - Presented Research posters at the Next Manufacturing research expo in July 2018 and Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering Forum in September 2018 - Co-authored a conference paper that appeared in CLEO 2019 - First author of a paper at EMBC 2021 and co-author of another paper ### Undergraduate Teaching Assistant @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States Teaching Assistant for Algorithm Design and Analysis (15-451/651) Spring 2020 course - Held weekly office hours, recitations - Graded homework, exams - Helped to write homework solutions ### Undergraduate Teaching Assistant @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Pittsburgh - Teaching assistant for Great Ideas in Theoretical Computer Science (15-251) Spring 2019 course - Held weekly office hours to review lecture content and clarify homework - Graded homework and examinations - Conducted weekly recitation to reinforce key concepts and provide supplemental instruction ### Undergraduate Teaching Assistant @ Carnegie Mellon University Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Pittsburgh - Teaching assistant for Fundamentals of Programming and CS (15-112) Spring 2018 course - Responsible for instructing students during weekly recitation and lab sessions - Mentored 9 students in completing a term project for the course - Evaluated student performance, including grading exams, quizzes, assignments and projects - Held weekly office hours and small group review sessions to provide tutoring, answer questions and clarify materials - Organized the submission process for the Hack112 hackathon conducted in Spring 2018 ### Software Engineer Intern @ Facebook Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Menlo Park, California, United States ### Software Development Intern @ Jane Street Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater New York City Area ### Student Researcher @ National University of Singapore Jan 2015 – Jan 2016 | Singapore Project Title: Investigating how the addition of silver onto a copper-bearing bulk metallic glass affects its anti-bacterial properties Mentors: Dr Grace Lim and Dr Abigayle Ng - Prepared and characterized samples of bulk metallic glasses with and without silver, prepared antibacterial assays and analyzed the results using one-way ANOVA testing - Done in a team of 3 as part of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Science Research Program (SRP) 2015 - Presented our findings at the 28th SRP Research Congress. ### Work Attachment @ AECOM Singapore Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | Singapore - 2 week job shadowing attachment with a team of structural and geotechnical engineers at AECOM Singapore - Observed work execution at various construction sites, including Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4 -Learnt about modeling the performance of structures, determining and building as per soil conditions etc. ### Student Researcher @ A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Singapore Project Title: Participatory Sensing for Government-Centric Applications: A Singapore Case Study Mentors: Dr Tan Hwee Pink and Dr Tony Luo, Institute of Infocomm Research (I2R) at A*STAR Singapore - Investigated the use of mobile crowdsourcing applications for government-centric purposes - Silver Award and Certificate of High Distinction at Raffles Institution Research Congress - Research paper available at https://arxiv.org/pdf/1508.05021v1.pdf ## Education ### Dual Degree in B.S.
