In my role as Vice President of Engineering, I led a dynamic and diverse hybrid workforce across the USA, Mexico, Colombia, and the EU, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams in Product, Analytics, Merchandising, and Marketing. My focus was on planning and executing a forward-thinking direct-to-consumer strategy.

I spearheaded a transformation of the product engineering organization, instituting robust processes and best practices that enhanced transparency and led to a predictable, scalable engineering development velocity. Central to my approach was empowering engineering managers and individual contributors, fostering an environment characterized by trust, open communication, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Among my key achievements were:

• Achieving a 21.4% reduction in non-personnel engineering OPEX from 2022 to 2023, with an additional projected decrease of 10.5% in 2024, by modernizing subsystems, consolidating technologies, and renegotiating service contracts.

• Formulating and implementing an anti-fraud policy and team, which reduced the realized fraud impact by 61.4% from 2022 to 2023.

• Enhancing the security posture and ensuring SOX compliance in partnership with CFGI, culminating in zero critical or high vulnerabilities by Q4 2023.

This role not only allowed me to leverage my strategic and leadership skills but also enabled me to contribute significantly to the company's technological and financial robustness.

In my role as Sr. Director of Development of Xoom, a division of PayPal, I played a pivotal role in leading the engineering division post-acquisition by PayPal. My responsibilities centered around bridging technology and strategy between Xoom and PayPal, working closely with cross-functional leaders and executives across Product, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Engineering teams.

Key accomplishments during my tenure included:

• Spearheading the integration of PayPal technology within Xoom and vice versa, ensuring a seamless and effective technological alignment between the two entities.

• Overseeing the significant technological migration from traditional data centers to the Google Cloud Platform, enhancing scalability and operational efficiency.

• Developing an innovative encryption microservice that significantly reduced the scope of PCI compliance, strengthening the security infrastructure and compliance posture.
