With over 7+ years of experience in this field, I have dedicated my career to designing structures that are not only safe and efficient but also environmentally sustainable. ## Work Experience ### Structural Project Manager @ GPLA Structural Engineers and Builders Jan 2025 – Present ### Assistant Project Manager @ GPLA Structural Engineers and Builders Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 ### Engineer @ Forell Elsesser Structural Engineers Jan 2023 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco, California, United States ### Structural Designer @ Forell Elsesser Structural Engineers Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | San Francisco Bay Area ### Graduate Engineer @ Walter P Moore Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco, California ### Structural Engineer @ Thornton Tomasetti Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Greater New York City Area • Assisted team in conducting GPR scanning (NDT) to determine the reinforcement in existing two-way slab and carried out the analysis to determine reserve capacity to support new inverted roof membrane assembly (IRMA) waterproofing system for a confidential client. • Designed new dunnage framing on the main roof along with analysis of the existing roof using Structural RAM for a high rise in NYC. Existing connection reinforcing was designed to support increased shear loads. • Analyzed the existing framing (beams and girders) for the proposed fitness center for a confidential client and designed reinforcing to take up the additional loads from the fitness center. • Visual site inspections and NDT were carried out on an eight-story building to determine the extent of damage to the two way concrete flat slab and its reinforcements for a confidential client. • Analysis of the cindercrete roof slab for the proposed roof deck for a confidential client was carried out to determine the live load capacity of the roof using structural RAM. • Worked on NDA projects as a part of renovation and have conducted site inspections for the same. • Masonry anchor designs for the new pre-cast stone façade for a confidential client. ### Graduate Student @ University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Jan 2016 – Jan 2017 ### Grader @ University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science I was appointed as a Grader for CS 498- Digital Forensics II. ### Student Technician @ University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Loomis laboratory, Physics Department Precision and dedication defines the post of Student Technician and I ensure the experiments dealt in Physics is set up to give accurate results with highest precision. The job also certify the meticulousness in setting up of the lecture hall. ### Engineer intern, Structural engineering @ Thornton Tomasetti Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Mumbai, Maharashtra, India • Worked on the analysis and design of 500 beams of a 27-story building in Philadelphia using spBeam and regenerated SAFE models at various levels for the design of slabs. • Analyzed and designed slab in a 60-story building at podium level using RAM concept. • Worked on Column takedown for Marriott in Washington DC using TT Column takedown and checked for the capacity of columns using spColumn and CSI Column software packages. Also, the design of shear walls was carried out using S-Concrete and ETABS for the same project. • Evaluated and reviewed shop drawings involved in various projects. ### Intern @ Mahindra Susten Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 Mahindra Susten is a company that offers diversified services with renewable energy. Hence, I joined Mahindra Susten to get firsthand experience on the design of foundation piles that were required to mount the solar panels. • I worked with the design team with Autodesk software packages united with MS office products to analyze and design the foundation piles of 20MPa with the diameter of 300mm and check the stability of the same by comparing the results with the IS specifications. • Being focused, I could handle the design specifications of 14,200 piles and complete the work assigned before time increasing the productivity of the entire project. This project helped me increase my practical knowledge on the design details of pile extending to a depth of 1.8m along with increasing the productivity of the project. • I could enhance my skills in AutoCAD, Revit software packages coupled with spreadsheet calculations with insight on my ingenuity. ### Intern @ Nuclear Power Corporation of India Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Kakrapar, Gujarat, India I had completed my internship from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited- Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. NPCIL mainly looks after the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of nuclear power plants that aims at the generation of electricity for the country. • With certification in AutoCAD, I worked with the design team that was involved in analyzing and designing of nuclear reactor. I worked on the detailing part in the AutoCAD and got the results tallied with the Indian Standard code requirements. • In addition to the design team, I worked in the Concrete Testing Laboratory along with L&T and its team to check for the quality of the three types of concrete that was used in the nuclear reactor to shield the radiations. Thus, I scrutinized and confirmed the quality of concrete that was used by conducting tests in its fresh and hardened state and conforming the results with the standards laid down by the code of practice. ## Education ### Master of Science (MS) in Structural Engineering University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign ### Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil Engineering Sjce, Mysuru ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ranjitha-manohar-pe-a26210106 --- Source: https://flows.cv/ranjitha JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ranjitha/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
