# Rida A. > Software Engineer @ Clever Inc. Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/rida Hello, I'm Rida, a software engineer. I'm passionate about using technology in education to solve complex problems and improve people's lives. From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to the pursuit of knowledge, and I'm super excited about the potential of EdTech to revolutionize the way we teach, learn, and make education more accessible for students of all backgrounds and abilities. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Clever Inc. Jan 2023 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Currently working on the data engineering team. Our responsibilities involve utilizing tools such as Snowflake, DBT, CDPs, and ETLs along with a variety of technologies such as React/Redux, Golang, Typescript, SQL, Terraform, and Python to create internal products, customer analytics tools, and to help manage & optimize the company's data pipeline. ### DSP Note-Taker @ University of California, Berkeley Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 | Berkeley, California, United States As a volunteer notetaker for the Disabled Students' Program, I attended lectures and meticulously took detailed notes, which I then handed to the program for distribution to the students I was working with. I ensured that the material was organized and uploaded promptly. Through this role, I developed strong organizational and time management skills, given that I had to balance my responsibilities as a note-taker with my own academics and activities. I also honed my active listening skills and was able to grow as a strong communicator. Most importantly, I was able to make a positive impact on the students I worked with since my notes helped them better understand the material presented during the lectures and succeed in the courses. This experience strengthened my resolve to promote accessibility and inclusion in higher education, and I plan to use the skills I developed as a note-taker to continue to make a positive impact in the future. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Clever Inc. Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 For my intern project, I developed a utility to replace pre-existing CSV reports with a user-friendly React and Typescript interface for school districts to more easily interpret changes made to district data on an identity management platform ### Research Apprentice @ EDGE in Tech™ Initiative at UC Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Berkeley, California, United States I had the opportunity to work alongside a mentor from the EDGE in Tech™ Initiative, an associate UC Berkeley faculty professor, and two other interns on a project investigating the outcomes of undergraduate students who utilized the Berkeley URAP program. My main responsibilities in the role included exploring possible relationships between STEM degrees and post-graduation job outcomes. I conducted statistical analyses and created a multitude of different visualizations using Python, which were then presented to influential members of the URAP board at the end of each semester. Through this experience, I developed a strong understanding of data analysis techniques and tools, as well as the ability to work with large and complex datasets. I also learned the importance of data privacy and safeguarding participants’ personally identifiable data, as well as key skills on how to effectively communicate research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. The overall experience of working collaboratively with my team was invaluable, as we often held quick stand-up meetings to share ideas, feedback, and insights to improve the project outcomes. This experience not only expanded my knowledge in the field of data analysis but also provided me with valuable skills that I can apply to future research projects. My time as a data analysis research intern at EDGE in Tech™ Initiative was an invaluable experience. ### Student Counselor @ Andalusia Academics Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 As a student counselor, I worked with a diverse group of students and parents. I assisted them with academic planning, providing course advice, navigating college policies and procedures, and even spoke at a webinar with over 90 participants. Through this experience, I sharpened my interpersonal skills by working cooperatively with students and parents to build academic plans that met their goals. This role opened my eyes to the important role proper support and guidance plays in helping students succeed in college and reinforced my passion for education and commitment to helping students achieve their full potential. ## Education ### Bachelor of Arts - BA in Data Science, Cognitive Science University of California, Berkeley Jan 2020 – Jan 2023 ### Associate's degree in AS-T Mathematics, AA Liberals Arts & Natural Sciences Mission College Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 ### High School Diploma Connecting Waters Charter School Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/abdulwasayrida --- Source: https://flows.cv/rida JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/rida/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-20
