I worked with the Aston Martin Racing department helping to disassemble and reassemble a Vantage GT3 race car that had just won its class (GTE-Am) at the Le Mans 24hrs. We stripped the car down to its bare carbon fibre chassis monocoque to inspect the parts and clean them before reassembling. As a huge fan of motorsport, this was a eye-opening experience; a revelation that these high tech prototype racers are a complex combination of highly specialised and engineered components bolted together. The ethos and culture of every department to design, build and assemble every single piece demonstrated to me both the true teamwork of the company, and why they have been so successful in motorsport. Shadowing the lead race engineer at a shakedown test at Donnington Park Racing Circuit and acting as a member of the pit crew allowed me to witness, first hand the relationship between humans and machines operating with precision and under immense pressure side by side, the very essence of motorsport. I also experienced design department where I was able to gain an insight that the CAD software was as critical to winning as the physical components designing upgrades and essential pieces of the car. ### Junior National Team Member @ British Rowing Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Caversham, England, United Kingdom Represented Great Britain rowing at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Trakai.
