Product design lead with deep experience creating breakthrough computing experiences for billions of people. I currently lead a team at Google making Android more personal and helpful through AI.

From 2017–2023, I led the interaction design team responsible for the core system UI of Android. We pioneered new and better ways for people with diverse needs to get things done with their phones – from attention and task management to navigation and control.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked to address broad human needs through emerging technologies. I believe in the power of design to envision and realize a future that people want to live in through empathy, insight, and craft.

I was born in Victoria BC, moved to the Bay Area in 2007, and live on the San Francisco Peninsula with my wife and our three children.
