I am currently working as a principal engineer at Amazon. Prior to this, I have led work on ML solutions at Nauto, worked as a founding engineer for a search startup, and been a part of several projects in Google search and Google Robotics.

Before joining Google, I did a dissertation in Medical Image Analysis at UNC Chapel Hill. My work during graduate school became part of a startup, which was eventually bought by Accuray. I received my Bachelors from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Computer Science and Engineering. I have an interest in distributed systems and machine learning.

I’m passionate about solving challenging technology problems, and building and mentoring teams while leveraging my skills in software engineering, concurrent programming, distributed systems and machine learning.

Leading organizations and efforts on various online taxonomic classification and text extraction problems at the scale of the Amazon catalog and helping build ML infrastructure for training and inference, and automated DL model cost/latency reduction systems along the way.

### Engineering Lead @ NAUTO
Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 | Palo Alto, CA
Leading a team building a high-availability, high ops (>100k) driver identification system in the cloud using Dempster-Shafer/Bayesian machine learning methods and vision-based deep learning methods; the NoSQL infrastructure for Nauto; and a system to merge time series representing GPS data on a large scale in a consistent manner that is not limited by the CAP theorem. The team won the Scylla user award for part of this work.
