# Roshan Peiris > Assistant Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology Location: Rochester, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/roshanpeiris I joined RIT as an Assistant Professor in 2019. After graduating with a BSc in Engineering from the University of Moraturwa in 2006, I joined the Mixed Reality Lab at the National University of Singapore as a Research Engineer. I received my PhD from the National University of Singapore in 2013 in Integrative Sciences and Engineering. Prior to joining RIT, I was a project senior assistant professor at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design (KMD) from 2015-2019 and prior to that, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Singapore University of Technology and Design's Augmented Human Lab from 2013-2015. My research interests include virtual/augmented reality, haptics, accessibility and human computer interaction. My current main research direction is "Immersive accessibility" where I look at using immersive technologies such as AR/VR and haptics for accessibility as well as making such technologies accessible. A current main project in this space is using virtual reality to enhance the employment training of people with disabilities towards employment.
