# Ryan Chang > SWE at Jane Street; Math + CS at MIT Location: Springfield, New Jersey, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/ryanchang1 ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Jane Street Jan 2025 – Present ### Software Engineer Intern @ Jane Street Jan 2024 – Jan 2024 ### Software Engineer Intern @ Citadel Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | New York, New York, United States Worked on Cost to Carry system in the Treasury Engineering team ### Software Engineer Intern @ OPT Industries Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Medford, Massachusetts, United States ### Software Engineer Intern @ Conservation X Labs Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 Helped develop the dashboard for Sentinel, a device that uses artificial intelligence to recognize animal species for conservation efforts. The device plugs into existing camera hardware and runs customizable machine learning models on the field to analyze images and send that data over the cloud to conservationists. I worked with React, Redux, MUI, MySQL, Firebase, Figma, Stripe, and Google Cloud Functions in a team of 4 people for a month. ### Teaching Assistant @ Gauss Academy of Mathematical Education Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | New Jersey, United States Teaching assistant for geometry and competition math classes for middle school students. Graded assignments, reviewed concepts with struggling students, and wrote solutions for problem sets. ### Math Instructor @ Gauss Academy of Mathematical Education Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Taught prealgebra course to elementary school students. Prepared lessons, graded homework assignments, and taught over Zoom. ### Research Assistant @ Stevens Institute of Technology Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 | Hoboken, New Jersey, United States Helped develop software that processes ocean satellite data using machine learning to calculate information such as the chlorophyll-a concentration in water. The algorithm offered great improvements in accuracy over the traditional SEADAS algorithm used by NASA while still being as fast. The information from this algorithm can be used to evaluate public health risks and make predictions about the future effects of human actions on the environment. Worked with Java and Python code alongside the ESA SNAP plugin framework. Presented work at Liberty Science Center symposium and co-authored a paper about the algorithm. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S003442572030609X ## Education ### Computer Science + Mathematics Massachusetts Institute of Technology ### Union County Magnet High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/ryan-chang-105495215 - Portfolio: https://ryan10145.github.io/ --- Source: https://flows.cv/ryanchang1 JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/ryanchang1/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
