Sandbox is Northeastern's student-led software consultancy. We deploy teams of students to build software that benefits Northeastern's academic researchers, students, and faculty.
I worked directly with Sandbox members, Northeastern staff, and researchers to pave the way for Sandbox to grow and expand, both in membership and breadth of work. With a focus on branding, identity, and outreach, I ensured that Sandbox is consistently adapting to feedback and trying out new ideas. I helped establish the culture that will lead Sandbox on to be an important part of many students' college experiences in the future.
Some tangible accomplishments:
•Grew the organization from 3 to 40 members, 1 to 7 software projects
•Secured school-external funding for launch year
•Received Jelly Incubation Fund grant for second year
•Partnered with AWS to provide credits to software projects at Northeastern
•Led two software projects across two separate semesters, each with a team of 4 developers, for Northeastern researchers
•Organized an event which educated over 80 students on how to get started with personal coding projects
•Set up and presented to an advisory board to ensure that the organization stays around after the founding group graduates
