- Designed the backend architecture for a Custom Fields project, allowing any customer to dynamically extend the data model to accommodate any datapoint they were interested in tracking or filtering by. After architecting implemented all of it in frontend and backend
- Implemented a system to handle complex SQL queries with multiple layers of CTEs, aggregations, and ransack filters in an Object Oriented manner that extended ActiveRecord
- Built the "load" part of ETL process on a cron job that would pull in S3 files of over 30 tables and write them as temp tables and swap them in place, maintaining all of the indices, constraints, and sequences of the tables.
- Regularly identified and solved inefficient queries with improved index designs

Regularly led and architected solutions of database architecture to enhance performance, taking areas where largest enterprise customers had queries that took multiple minutes down to milliseconds. Led and built out infrastructure to help our largest app support sharding and to be able to migrate customers, including supporting writes during multi-hour migrations without loss of data. Migrated the core codebase from Rails 4 to Rails 5.

As a backend Ruby and Ruby on Rails engineer, I've worked on myriads of projects within our service oriented architecture.  Those include enhancing our categorization of financial transactions to greater accuracy and handling user preferences in the process, augmenting "junk data" to provide greater insight to analytics, merging duplicate users within the system and dealing with data reconciliation, enhancing the schema of our data warehouse to meet clients' needs, and writing integrations to work with third party APIs used for data aggregation.

For three months I was in charge of the European Support as I worked from their Dublin office. Also took care of IT needs for new employees that were hired.
