Accelerating Engineering Velocity. Datalake and GenAI. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Apple Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Cupertino, California, United States Maps - Coreservices Developed single pane of glass for maps production. ### Software Engineer Intern @ Coursera Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Mountain View, California, United States Infrastructure - Developer Experience Played chess for the most part. Modularized IAC for CI/CD platform with Terraform and Atlantis, Evaluated Spinnaker as CI/CD alternative, created ETLs and eventing to emit data from various sources and environments to vendor platform for engineering productivity insights and developed an integration with Active Directory to sync data directly into internal service for metadata. ### DevOps Engineer @ CYE Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 | Amherst, Massachusetts, United States ### Software Engineer Intern @ Viasat Inc. Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Carlsbad, California, United States I was a full stack software engineering intern in the Commercial Air domain of the Commercial Mobility business. My team develops in-flight portals which allow passengers to connect to Viasat's wifi and enjoy other features. My internship progressed in 2 phases. In the first, I was fully integrated with the team wherein I was working with full time SWEs in their agile scrum environment, taking up feature work and support requests from business as they came. With the second half of my internship, I proposed an internal tool and started developing that with my co-intern and we were detached from our team's scrum environment and working in agile kanban. We delivered the MVP end to end from the product's conception to testing for internal usage along with a roadmap for future work. Here are some of the key things I worked on: • Architected and engineered an internal tool for automating portal deployments through an asynchronous, scalable cloud architecture in AWS following a coffee-shop model. The MVP involves multiple AWS components such as Lambdas and ECS and uses a Jenkins client while the roadmap involves a more scalable version orchestrated through an MQ. • Optimized an existing Jenkins testing pipeline by parallelizing test suites as well as tests bringing down test times by 88.6% for developers in multiple teams which led to faster development and less developer friction. • Fixed bugs and added features in React and Typescript to multiple systems in the portal ecosystem in an agile scrum environment. • Extended previous JavaScript based logging infrastructure by adding new events compliant to RFC‑5424, increasing throughput for more insights to customers. • Provisioned Groovy backend system configurations to enable Captive Network Assistant for in‑flight portals allowing passengers to connect to wifi. ### Software Engineer @ CYE Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | United States The Center for Youth Engagement is an NSF funded research organization helping undeserved youth access education and career opportunities through technological projects. In my role as a backend engineer, I develop and maintain backend systems, cloud resources and build automation tools. • Built AWS CI/CD CodePipelines using Terraform provisioning to optimize deployment workflows leading to 1 command builds and deployments • Architected in‑house backend framework in Python reducing code by 40,000+ lines, boosting server development from 3 months to 1 day • Automated AWS setups with Terraform infrastructures for provisioning multiple cloud resources at command speeding setups by 2 weeks • Engineered 4 containerized backend solutions with REST APIs, AWS and security solutions in an agile environment for multiple NSF research grants • Created hiring assignments for recruiting new engineers to the team and interviewed 30 SWE candidates for multiple backend and devops positions • Rick Rolled everyone in my team twice in the same day ### Corporate Intern @ Cargill Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Gurgaon, India ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, UMass Amherst ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/saakshaat - Website: https://saakshaat.codes/ - GitHub: https://github.com/Saakshaat --- Source: https://flows.cv/saakshaat JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/saakshaat/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
