In college, I was on track to become a K-12 band director, and although I enjoyed teaching, I realized mid-program that band directing wasn't for me. I was determined to complete the degree, and to continue learning as much as possible about effective communication and step-by-step problem solving  --  skills that I implemented as a professional guitar teacher and as a tuba player in the Ohio State Marching Band.

As graduation approached, I began considering a career in tech. Based on that itch, I took a chance and enrolled at Tech Elevator, where I spent 14 weeks and around 800 hours writing and studying code. It was there that I realized that I love coding because it combines problem-solving and craftmanship, and that I enjoyed teaching because I want to learn, grow, and help others do the same. With that said, I am seeking a role where I can continue growing and utilizing the logic and creativity that I obtained through music and teaching.
