Plated was a meal kit subscription company. I worked on our in-house culinary tools, building and maintaining tools for our culinary staff. The back-end was written in Ruby on Rails and the front-end was based on JavaScript and React, using the MobX framework for state management.

Some of the things I've worked on include:
- Re-architected the culinary recipe development tool into a single page app that uses shared data stores to manage complex data models, which allowed the culinary team to manage more recipes while decreasing product issues
- Worked on the product launches of new recipe types offered to customers, including being technical lead on the creation of pantry item add-ons
- Contributed to the development of a component library used for internal use
- Created a new data model to group ingredients together that needed to be packaged together, reducing fulfillment errors
- Implemented MobX as a state management solution

At Bauer Xcel Media, I maintained and implemented features for a custom, legacy Rails CMS and front end reader sites, supporting a platform for 13 digital magazines and its editors. I supported the app from all angles, completing tasks related to front end, back end, DevOps, and data.
- Created customizable, on-the-fly ad injection and ad refreshing features to boost monetization revenue
- Increased security on sites by setting up SSL across all domains with zero downtime and assuring GDPR compliance
- Introduced React into CMS and reader-facing features such as a WYSIWYG text editor, autocompletion for clickbait detector, and recirculation unit
- Implemented feature flag system to roll out new features incrementally
- Built a Slackbot with JIRA integration for in-house user bug reporting
