# Samuel Atefah > Software Engineer @ Monterey Technologies, Inc. || Johns Hopkins University '23 Location: Lorton, Virginia, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/samuelatefah Since I was a child, I always knew that I wanted to work with computers. However, I wasn’t quite sure which area of computer science that I wanted to pursue. Artificial intelligence. Computer graphics. Mobile applications. Game development. Computer science is a broad field that encompasses various disciplines. What is my niche? My time at Johns Hopkins University helped me discover that front-end development brings me fulfillment. I find passion in creating visual components and putting them together to develop user interfaces. If I had never been introduced to React, a front-end framework for web development, while working on a project for my 601.421 Object Oriented Software Engineering course, I would have never realized my love for front-end development. Are there other things in this world that may interest me that I haven’t yet had the chance to learn about? As I embark on this next chapter of my life, I hope to obtain a position as a software engineer who can continuously learn and explore. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Monterey Technologies, Inc.
