# Satyam Dhar > Architecting the Future of AI Infrastructure | Expert in Distributed Computing | Helping Orgs Architect Resilient, High-Performing Systems | Senior Member, IEEE | Ex-Adobe, Amazon Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/satyam I operate at the intersection of deep tech and business impact—where architecture choices ripple into product outcomes and engineering culture shapes long-term value. With a background that spans big tech and startup ventures, I bring a strategist’s lens to engineering problems and a builder’s mindset to strategy. I care less about buzzwords and more about alignment: Is the system scalable? Is the team set up for success? Is the tech serving the business or distracting from it? Through writing and speaking, I challenge industry trends that oversimplify or sensationalize. Whether it’s pushing back on AI myth-making or advocating for engineering voices in boardroom decisions, I aim to elevate the conversation. Topics I speak and write on: ∙ Engineering credibility in an AI-fueled world ∙ Distributed systems and scalable infrastructure ∙ Making architecture decisions that serve real-world outcomes ∙ The undervaluing of technical judgment in product orgs ∙ Building healthier tech teams and cultures from the ground up San Francisco-based. University of Wisconsin alum. Designing architecture that supports fast iteration, enterprise reliability, and AI performance in production. Creating infrastructure that balances experimentation with operational rigor. Working closely with product teams to ensure AI features ship smoothly and deliver real business value. Architecting for both latency-sensitive and high-throughput use cases. Enabling internal teams to move faster with safe and scalable abstractions. ### Senior Staff Software Engineer, Adobe Acrobat @ Adobe Jan 2021 – Jan 2025 | San Francisco, California, United States • Led the architecture and production deployment of the first version of the AI Assistant for Acrobat, growing DAU from 0 to 20 million. • Led the development of an AI Evaluation platform from the ground up, tailored for LLM-powered systems, enabling LLM evaluations, A/B experimentation, prompt tuning, and seamless CI/CD pipeline integration. • Overhauled the Prompt Management System for Acrobat GenAI by introducing a real-time Prompt Store, enabling storing, versioning, tuning, and real-time loading of prompts in Stage/Prod environments. • Spearheaded initiatives to improve team agility by introducing Model Routing and the Model Gateway services, increasing delivery efficiency by over 50%. • Developed an access code mechanism at Adobe Sign for a large enterprise client (major bank), addressing a compliance issue in the APAC region by replacing URLs in signing emails, successfully enabling secure agreement signing and retaining a multi-million-dollar partnership. • Led multiple impactful projects, features, and engineering initiatives, including Bulk Client Data Download and Document Link Expiration at Adobe Sign. • Served as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Reporting and Apache Druid at Adobe Ad Cloud, driving petabyte-scale advertising data ingestion, aggregation, and querying. ### Senior Software Engineer, Adobe Ad Cloud @ Adobe Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | San Francisco, CA • Adobe Ad Cloud (formerly Tubemogul) • Responsible for building and maintaining the core data aggregation system that processes approximately 13 billion events daily. • The architectural components of the system included Druid-powered real-time querying, Kafka streaming for aggregation, decoration, and storage, Hive/Presto (managed over Qubole) for internal business intelligence, data validation, scheduled/ad-hoc customer reporting, and testing, MySQL DB for storing customer account information, and Prometheus for metrics and alerting management. All of these components are hosted over Kubernetes and AWS. • Served as the subject matter expert in Druid infrastructure and customer reports. ### Software Development Engineer @ Amazon Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area • Owned the Echo Spatial Perception (ESP) service, one of Alexa's core platform services that serves more than 100M requests a day and ensures single device response in multi-device environments • Designed and developed data collection and storage solution for our ML requirements • Optimized the device whitelisting/certification system from taking 2 weeks to an hour • Designed and developed the testing framework for context-based device arbitration ### Student Software Developer @ University of Wisconsin-Madison Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Madison, Wisconsin • Worked on a project under Prof. Suman Banerjee to build an android app which rates a user’s driving on a scale of 10 based on the accelerometer and gyroscope data generated by the smartphone. ### SDE Intern @ Amazon Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Seattle, Washington • Completed a challenging 2-part intern project at Amazon’s Weblab Statistics Team consisting of: • Built statistical regression models of OPS based on customer id data • Gained deeper understanding of statistical modeling • Used R and Python to apply model fitting techniques • Developed from scratch a Spark job submission tool to be integrated into Amazon Insights (internal statistical analysis service): • Automated decryption of sensitive customer data residing on Amazon S3 and loading it directly as Spark RDDs • Training regression models developed in the first part using Spark ### Graduate Student Researcher @ University of Wisconsin-Madison Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Madison, Wisconsin • Worked with Professor Sushmita Roy on clustering of genes (Computational Biology) • Involved unsupervised machine learning techniques to determine patterns and correlation between variables in large datasets. ### Founder @ Miso Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Bengaluru Area, India • Developed Miso - an ebook reading library app that applied the Spotify/Netflix model to ebooks - subscription-based or ad supported unlimited reading. Authors get paid based on number of pages read per week. Pivoted to: • GeekBox: A minimalistic XMPP-based anonymous chatting app for Android with OTR encryption (when encrypted texting wasn’t a thing). Messages were displayed only once and were automatically deleted once read. ### Software Engineer (Routing) @ Cisco Jan 2012 – Jan 2014 | Bengaluru Area, India • Worked in development of Power-over-Ethernet(PoE), Secure Group Tag(SGT) features for Cisco ISR 4400 series and SPA support for ASR 1001-X in Cisco IOS-XE • Developed comprehensive unit test plans for features like Energywise, PoE, Cisco TrustSec • Provided continued maintenance and development of bug fixes and patch sets for existing code ## Education ### Master's degree in Computer Science University of Wisconsin-Madison ### High School St. Anselm's Pink City School, Jaipur ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/satyamdhar - Website: https://samdhar.com/blog --- Source: https://flows.cv/satyam JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/satyam/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
