I was a summer'2020 intern at Visa.

• Hackathon: Created a mobile app to enable contactless payments to support around 3 million small businesses in COVID times. Used Near Field Communication (NFC) and Visa token service along with React Native and SpringBoot.

• Developed a dashboard using Vue.js (UI) and Golang Gorilla Mux framework (REST services) for the service discovery of Visa services.

• Proposed a solution to reduce cash usage by 24% in the US by combining Visa merchant service and customer loyalty program for small merchants and customers.

• Architected and developed the first in-house “Pricing Engine” platform for J.C. Penney from scratch with major features such as real-time pricing, competitive pricing. Used Spring Boot, Spring MVC for microservices, Hazelcast (caching).

• Productionized the first data streaming application called Pricing Notification System for my team to receive the real-time price updates using AWS Kinesis and Kafka. Used ZooKeeper for Kafka Cluster management. Wrote Docker file to host the application over AWS.

• Worked on redesigning J.C. Penney’s “Promotion & Coupon” backend system architecture by migrating it to NoSQL Neo4j DB and PostgreSQL from the existing Oracle DB. The new Promotion & Coupon system increased the order conversion by almost 4 percent.

• Supervised the different cross-functional teams to reduce the post-production defects and defect turnaround time.

• Scaled Big Data applications using Apache Spark and Cassandra reducing the data processing time for approx. 10 million records from 4 hours to 25 minutes.
