Implemented features for AggieFeed, a campus activity feed displaying upcoming events to 30,000+ students.

Developed pipelines to convert data from 10+ RSS/XML feeds into objects for MongoDB to be more easily displayed in a news feed.

Converted legacy REST API routes using Restify to Fastify to improve response times by 20%. Ensured all routes had accurate HTTP response status codes.

Updated a Lambda function to use AWS SDK V3 for interacting with S3 to improve compatibility with future versions of the SDK.

Investigated configuring MongoDB replica sets on EC2 using Terraform to enhance reliability and scalability.

Identified an issue with service responses and implemented a new service response wrapper class to increase consistency throughout the codebase and improve error handling through more specific error messages.

Performed code reviews and suggested changes to improve code quality and sanity using Bitbucket with other engineers.

Built 20+ NextJS UI components for an 800+ participant Hackathon with a team of 40+ directors.

Recreated the HackDavis 2024 website from scratch, generating 200,000+ clicks per month around the time of the hackathon. Implemented multiple carousels, mouse scroll parallax effects, smooth character/image animations, FAQ accordions, and the footer.

Created a web app that enabled 50+ judges to identify and score 150+ teams, reducing total judging time by 50%. Implemented a team / projects view for judges to view which teams to judge and a scoring view, allowing judges to input scores and comments about each team.

Set up weekly sprint meetings with other frontend engineers to efficiently assign tasks and continuously review and merge changes. Collaborated extensively with designers to ensure accurate recreation of Figma designs.

Contributed to on campus workshops related to full-stack web and iOS development.

Developed a course planning tool for the UC Davis Center for Education Effectiveness encompassing all essential information to create an academic schedule of classes until graduation for UC Davis students.

Designed an efficient course planning algorithm based on course requirements from CSV and JSON files.

Wrote Python scripts to clean up course data in CSV files to match our desired schemas.

Implemented CRUD routes using Express to retrieve course data from collections on MongoDB.

Set up testing suites using Mocha and Chai to effectively test algorithm and API endpoints.

Wrote documentation to explain each step of the course planning algorithm and how to structure unit test.
