# Scott Hardy > Founding Engineer | YC-backed Startup (YC W25) | Previously Dept. of Energy | Open to Early-Stage Roles Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/scotthardy I’m a builder who enjoys turning messy, ambiguous problems into scalable, elegant systems. Most recently, I was a Founding Engineer at Flowtel, a YC-backed startup building an AI-driven platform for hotel operations. I helped design and ship core product infrastructure, including an end-to-end Hotel Intelligence Scanner that reverse-engineers live hotel booking systems using browser automation, AI web tasks, and network traffic analysis. My work spanned the full stack—from scan orchestration and real-time SSE progress to PMS, brand, and union detection—along with the underlying data pipelines and internal tools that supported go-to-market efforts, including a custom CRM for selling AI voice agents to hotels. Previously, I worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (U.S. Department of Energy) on efficiency research for the Perlmutter supercomputer, one of the world’s fastest supercomputer. I deployed Grafana on Linux to visualize and analyze cooling system data, identify performance bottlenecks, and support sustainability improvements—strengthening my ability to reason about large-scale systems and communicate technical insights across engineering and non-technical teams. Beyond software, my partner and I are launching Scott & Valentina, a real estate partnership in San Francisco. She'll lead client relationships and showings full-time while I handle the tech, systems, and operations part-time. We're building something durable and people-centric from the ground up. Across national-level research, early-stage startup product development, and new entrepreneurial paths, I bring a bias toward impact, clarity under ambiguity, and ownership from zero to one. I’m energized by solving hard problems, scaling early products, and working with teams that value rigor, trust, and momentum. Outside of work, I enjoy working out, playing five instruments (piano, saxophone, guitar, bass, and ukulele), DJing, writing and producing music, and reading about psychology. -- Currently exploring opportunities where I can help build and ship ambitious products with small, fast-moving teams. Particularly excited about early-stage startups and AI-native companies. I get adrenaline and a lot of satisfaction running multiple agents at the same time. If your company isn't fully onboard with utilizing AI, please don't bother reaching out. Highly, HIGHLY passionate about music, psychology, and real estate. ## Work Experience ### Independent Software Engineer @ hardy digital labs Jan 2025 – Present | San Francisco, CA Built and managed a portfolio of iOS and web-based projects to strengthen technical understanding of software products and digital communication. https://www.brewmap.coffee/ https://www.ignitedreaper.com/ https://apps.apple.com/us/app/splittip-pro/id6746974894 https://www.hardybrosdjentertainment.com/ https://www.hardydigitallabs.com/ https://www.hiddenpartyechoes.com/ ### Disk Jockey @ scottyd Jan 2024 – Present | San Francisco, CA - Planned and executed live performances at San Francisco venues and tech events, coordinating equipment setup, timelines, and on-site logistics to deliver reliable, high-quality events. - Managed end-to-end event operations including scheduling, vendor coordination, and technical setup, ensuring smooth execution across diverse venues and audiences. - Built a recognizable personal brand through consistent performance quality, professionalism, and word-of-mouth reputation within the local creative and tech communities.
