Primary role was firmware development in industrial servo and stepper amplifiers. Worked on projects as part of a small team as well as solo. Did new development and sustaining work on servo firmware. Performed static analysis, unit testing, and general engineering tests. Developed using RTOS's and interrupt driven applications. Created Engineering change request (ECR) for firmware and some minor hardware changes. Assisted other engineers in setting up development environments, code repositories. Setup VM for software test, license servers. Interfaces with tool vendors for development environments. Used Matlab, Octave, and Python for simulation and testing of code. Wrote modules of code for ADC, DAC, GPIO, PWM's, UARTS, SPI, Interrupts, Watchdogs and timers. Used Oscilloscopes and digital logic scopes for testing of signals and protocols. Setup current loop with PI control law. Worked with Freescale, TI and arm devices. Developed network testing and application code for TCP/IP interfaces, used WireShark for analysis. Worked with Hardware Engineers, Test engineers, Quality Control and Manufacturing during development and testing.

As an Application Engineer I was a product expert for servo amplifier and multi-axis controllers. My expertise includes programming, servo control, amplifier/ motor sizing and motion bus communication. I worked with domestic and international distributors and customers as technical support and resource from factory and onsite. I have taught classes on programming and interfacing motion control products. I provided engineering support for product development through testing of standard and custom products including electronic hardware/firmware and programming interfaces. I wrote technical documentation including technical bulletins, software examples and product startup guides. Assisted repair department by training technicians and troubleshooting specialized servo amplifier.
