I collaborated with very senior design team to help shape the future vision for Intuit's web based software products. Through time our efforts evolved from a distributed object oriented programming platform to something that came closer and closer to the web services standards that were being developed at the time. I had a number of roles on this project, including: author of 3 chapters of an HP book about web services, co-inventor of WSCL (web services conversation language), designed and programmed graphical user interface tools that were part of the HP web services "stack," member of the E-Speak architecture team, etc. ### CTO and Lead Software Developer @ CustomerSat (Acquired by Market Tools) Jan 1999 – Jan 2000 I was originally hired by CustomerSat.com as a software consultant to help build online survey websites. I soon realized we could scale the business if we had an "engine" that would generate survey websites for customers (rather than us building them by hand). I proposed (to our CEO) a new product idea that would do just this. I then spent 9 months building an online survey builder product for CustomerSat. In this role I was responsible for database design, visual/interaction design, all user interface software development, and all back-end software development. We hired a contractor who helped me with web site administration. I was soon hired into a CTO role. In that role I presented the software to investors, presented our product at the Demo 99 conference, and built a team of developers to help bring our product to market.
