Liquidity and asset traceability in Global Markets. Python with test driven development

Worked on a 40-person wide financial regulatory reporting system. Key responsibilities included:

• engaging with stakeholders to translate complex business logic into functional requirements

• implementing solutions with Python, using strict test driven development via Cucumber tests and unit tests

• understanding financial instruments and their applications within both the system and user requirements

• interacting and developing with a large internal framework in day to day work

Key responsibilities included:

• designing, coding and creating unit-tests for critical cloud-based software

• automating deployment between services onto cloud platforms

• assisting in finding technical solutions to complex problems

• engaging with stakeholders and technical teams to improve communication and team knowledge

Ambassador for open days at the university. Work included:

• giving tours of the Computer Science building

• talking to perspective students and their families about any queries

• gave presentations to audiences of 100+ students and their families about student life in Nottingham

Volunteered at local food bank during covid. Responsibilities included:

• delivered food packages to underprivileged families

• helped organise said food packages to meet requirements

• communicate with the local community to help spread word of anybody in need of the service

The main reason I did this work was that a lot of school children who rely on free school meals were unable to receive them, or were given unsubstantial meals. This food bank specialised in helping families in such scenarios, and I was able to be one of the faces helping them.
