# Sean Dandrea > Senior Software Engineer | Full Stack Web Developer Location: Arlington, Massachusetts, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/seandandrea With over 9 years of experience in full-stack web development, my goal is to be a force multiplier for your software engineering team. My biggest strength is leading large and complicated projects, including technical design, splitting work into subtasks, and managing stakeholders and deadlines. Beyond that, I am experienced in performance improvements, architecture design, and mentoring co-workers. I love building things and I love helping people grow and I'd love to do both of these things at your company! ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Tulip Interfaces Jan 2019 – Jan 2023 | Greater Boston Area At Tulip, I led several large projects to completion. - "Workspaces" partitioned the majority of our APIs by region so that our international customers could see all their locations in a unified interface. - "Customer Translations" made it possible to add translations on our frontend, a key features for manufacturers working in many countries with different languages. - "Transitions Runtime" improved the predictability of our event model, allowing us to start capturing app cancellations from anywhere in an app. - "Stations Page Rework" rebuilt the frontend of our stations page from the ground up. This was a prerequisite to Transitions Runtime. In addition, I regularly consulted with other co-workers to guide them in their own work. - Aided one engineer in running the "Electronic Signatures" project, a key ask of our life science customers. - Troubleshooted with another engineer on a critical performance issue with app publication which was blocking a customer from building new apps. - Consulted with a third on our versioning framework which would allow us to overhaul the versioning UI and add new features. ### Software Engineer @ Wayfair Jan 2015 – Jan 2019 Most of my time at Wayfair was on the Storefront team where I worked on several key pages in the user journey including our Browse page and Category page. - Acted as a tech lead on category page, leading several different A/B tests. We took many big swings to change the format of the category page, and overall we were able to improve sitewide performance by 0.9%. - Built a new framework for browse pages, which allowed other teams to quickly add many new page types, including Daily Sales, Closeout, Open Box, and Visual Search. - Worked on several smaller projects such as leading an onboarding course, React refactors, and frontend performance improvements. I also spent a year on the Warehouse team, where I primarily focused on scalability and performance. - Decreased CPU usage of our most expensive SQL stored procedures in advance of "Way Day". When Way Day arrived, we were able to run smoothly at 4 times normal volume. - Added pick assignment to our load testing framework, so we could validate that picking could handle peak load in a safe and risk-free way. ### Software Engineer @ Microsoft Jan 2013 – Jan 2015 I spent my first year as a Software Development Engineer in Test, but transitioned to a more traditional Software Engineer role after a year. While in QA, I mostly focused on improving the existing regression test infrastructure by converting integration tests into smaller scoped unit tests. After becoming an SE, I worked on a large migration project to move data from SQL into a Jet database, in order to merge the codebases of two webmail clients. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science Cornell University Jan 2009 – Jan 2013 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/seanofandrea --- Source: https://flows.cv/seandandrea JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/seandandrea/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
