Major contribution in my current role lies in establishing a repeatable conventional SDLC cycle matching in speed and agility the current agile approaches, while maintaining high code quality at delivery and retaining the top notch development talent. Aspen CRM re-built on SmartGWT framework running with a custom browser based on Gecko engine. Challenges included: globally distributed team including UK and Russia members; Fundamental changes in the architecture due to mandated migration to the different framework. Reorganized software development life cycle by establishing a clear policy on using VCS (Perforce), automated builds, formulated deployment policy, dedicated database management. built effective working relationship between QA and development teams. Built a competent and motivated team that consisted of 13 members (8 principal developers, a unit test developer, a build/config. engineer, QA (two members), a technical writer). Major responsibilities included: Project planning, resource scheduling, and progress tracking. Training and supervision of the junior staff. Participated in the development, code maintenance, and production support for Xavex Online - global real time equity derivative trading system for pricing and managing electronic trades. During that period the development of the system was successfully migrated from Frankfurt-on-Main (Germany) to Moscow (Russia). I was responsible for the following components of the system: Core trading Xavex Online pricing component- multithreaded application sending order information to the third party pricing engine (shipped as a shared library) and receiving back price updates. FIX interface based on B4B FIXtm Engine - an open interconnect environment, which allows business to exchange quote, order and execution routing. Was used to connect a trading server to Cast/OS (NYSE) and Deutsche Boerse. We used the FIX messaging engine from Silicon Summit Technologies (SST). T.I.Q.S..– Trading Information and Quoting System from T.I.Q.S. GmbH & Co. KG, used to connect to the stock exchange in Stuttgart, Germany. External Price Feeders component– component which uploads prices for certain products directly from traders’ spreadsheets (Excel and/or Applix) to the trading server.
