Submitty is an open source programming assignment submission system used by RPI and other universities. I am a full stack developer on the team, contributing to a large and open source codebase. My responsibilities include designing and implementing new features along with fixing issues and reviewing code. I helped develop a system to automatically assign students their exams once graded by scanning QR codes; which saved hours of time spent manually assigning students their work by a TA or instructor. The QR code scanner was then extended to automatically scan handwritten student ID numbers through an OCR model and computer vision.
