Reality Labs: Worked on building the underlying 3D maps cloud infrastructure for powering location aware experiences in the Metaverse.
Cloud mapping and localization
• Helped build cloud based persistence and localization for Oculus maps stored on the device. The first time Oculus maps were stored on the cloud. This enabled the shared spatial anchors project, allowing multi-user games sharing common virtual objects at the same 3D location.
• Cross-functional project required coordinating 3 teams, 20+ engineers.
• Developed internal facing APIs to interact with point cloud maps and perform operations on them.

This project was key to unlocking multiple Org level OKRs:
• Enables Oculus devices to go from room scale -> building scale -> city scale.
• Enables map sharing cross devices for novel multi-user experiences.
• As a side project, single handedly linted 100K+ (linter coverage increased 18%) lines of C++ code in the company which finally allowed the company to default "turn on" the CLANGFORMAT linter on all future code.
