# Shivansh Inamdar > Robotics & AI Lead @ Nimble Robotics | Penn CS + Physics Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/shivansh I lead robotic manipulation at Nimble Robotics - everything from perception and learned models through control and fleet-scale infrastructure. We're building a single robot that can handle all core warehouse tasks, and my job is making sure the full pipeline works: the robot sees something, figures out what to do, and does it reliably, at scale. A lot of my work lives in the messy middle between research and production. I've brought foundation models into real-world deployment, which sounds clean but mostly means building all the orchestration, inference, and data infrastructure that keeps things running once the paper-worthy part is done. Before Nimble, I co-founded Aarogya, a healthcare nonprofit that built India's first medicine redistribution platform. It started as an undergrad project at Penn and ended up winning the President's Engagement Prize - still one of the things I'm proudest of. I hold dual Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Pennsylvania. ## Work Experience ### Senior Robotics Software Engineer @ Nimble Robotics Jan 2021 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area I lead robotic manipulation at Nimble end to end - perception, learned models, control, and fleet-scale infrastructure. We're building a single robot that handles all core warehouse tasks autonomously for major retailers. On the perception side, I build multi-camera systems for detection, segmentation, and pose estimation across cluttered, constantly changing warehouse environments. I've brought foundation models - diffusion policies, VLAs, multimodal LLMs - into production robotic control, along with the inference and orchestration infrastructure that makes that actually work. I've also built online learning and active learning pipelines so robots improve in production rather than waiting on manual labeling across thousands of SKUs. Most of my work lives at the transition between research and deployment - making things that are promising become things that are reliable, not on one robot but across a fleet. ### Co-Founder and Co-CTO @ aarogya.life Jan 2019 – Jan 2021 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Co-founded aarogya.life, an award winning health-tech social enterprise creating India’s first medicine redistribution platform, enabling low-income patients to access essential medicines at extremely affordable prices while preventing wastage of medicines lying unused in warehouses. The President’s Engagement Prizes are competitively awarded annually to academically excellent and civically engaged Penn seniors to design and undertake fully-funded local, national, or global engagement projects during the first year after they graduate from Penn. ### Tech Lead @ rePurpose Global Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 • Led the design and deployment of ecommerce platform integrations, including a Shopify app. • Established best practices for the tech team, focusing on working with & migrating large, legacy codebases, setting up new projects and onboarding new hires. ### Software Engineering Intern @ Allevi Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Greater Philadelphia Area • Collaborated across the software, bio and hardware teams to work on interdisciplinary projects, mainly in Python and JavaScript. • Developed an updated method to transfer commands to printers wirelessly using GCP Pub/Sub, cutting loss in connection issues by >50%. • Implemented a unified logging infrastructure for software platforms & printers allowing for significantly faster fault detection. • Developed an object creator to allow users to easily generate 3D stl files of commonly used shapes and print them at the click of a button. • Created a virtual printer simulator to allow for easy software debugging and demos for prospective clients; deployed to teams across Allevi. ### Computer Science Research Assistant @ University of Pennsylvania Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States • Worked with Prof. Ani Nenkova at the University of Pennsylvania. • Focused on applying NLP techniques to biomedical data for information extraction. ### Astrophysics Research @ University of Pennsylvania Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States • Conducted research in Dr. Cullen Blake's lab in the Astrophysics department. • Created a software package to simulate stellar spectra moving through space and Earth's atmosphere with variability caused by observer's location on Earth, time of year, weather patterns, etc. • Worked primarily with astropy, numpy, scipy, etc in Python. ### Teaching Assistant for CIS 192 @ University of Pennsylvania Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States ## Education ### BAS & MSE in Computer Science University of Pennsylvania ### BA & MS in Physics University of Pennsylvania ### The Emerald Heights International School, Indore ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/shivanshinamdar --- Source: https://flows.cv/shivansh JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/shivansh/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-29
