The FDSE role is a role that pairs software engineering with client interaction. To date, I have worked with three primary projects, relocating around the globe to support the needs of the business:
Cybersecurity - Middle East
•
High scale, low-latency data pipelines (Petabyte scale) using Spark
•
Cybersecurity detection tooling, resulting in patents: EP3800568A1 and EP3798880A1
•
Cybersecurity investigative applications and workflows using Typescript/React
Mechanical Reliability Engineering - Sydney, Australia
•
High scale timeseries workflows, based on mechanical engineering sensor data
•
Close iteration with customer's management and end-user engineers, to meet their needs
•
Management of a small team (5-10 people)
Healthcare and Insurance - Tokyo, Japan
•
Lead engineer across all projects with a large client
•
Designing and implementing a medical data platform to support eldercare providers nationwide
•
Worked with central product teams on core infrastructure to improve stability and speed
Working in the Conversational AI (AI Core) team in the Artificial Intelligence and Research group (AI&R).
•
Worked on a conversational bot authoring platform and runtime, including an actions suggestions feature, where botlets could suggest other botlets to take over the control flow at any given time, using a common knowledge graph and ontology
•
Worked closely with data scientists and linguists on an offline metrics experimentation platform to assess product conversation quality from end-to-end, to support data-driven iteration.
•
Personal contributions included planning and architecture phases, making key design and structural decisions, as well as owning the implementation itself.
