Tasked to rebuild an ecommerce site's outdated API, this project focused on implementing a RESTful microservice architecture that could be easily scaled to meet changing needs.

Highlights:
• Leveraged three EC2 instances, an NGINX load balancer, and data caching to increase throughput from 800 to over 3,500 requests/second with a <0.1% error rate.
• Deployed a PostgreSQL server on AWS and implemented an ETL process for a dataset of over 30 million records.
• Conducted rigorous stress testing with k6 and Loader.io, visualized performance metrics with New Relic and Grafana, and optimized SQL query execution times for maximum efficiency.
