Over the course of my time working with the curious, efficient and, in general, lovely minds at Italic, I

• designed and developed an entire data to reporting pipeline from scratch

• migrated our previous data infrastructure in BigQuery to Redshift

• set up and optimized ETL through Fivetran and Stitch to sync data from Italic’s DB in RDS to Redshift

• set up, developed on and maintained a GitHub repo of SQL queries (models) to create and update tables to aggregate ETL data in Redshift based on DBT’s workflow

• created and developed scripts to QA data in Redshift (ETL and aggregate data) for inconsistencies and incompleteness and backfill correct data into DB from third party API such as Stripe

• created data sources and dashboards to power BI reporting for the entire Italic team on Tableau and Mode, based on schema designed jointly with all business teams

• monitored performance and operating parameters of the entire data infrastructure (RDS -> Fivetran -> Redshift) and maintained consistent end-to-end documentation

Skills developed: Web development using React and node.js, NoSQL database (MongoDB) management, Managing infrastructure for web development, testing and deployment

• Developed and tested features on the Italic storefront database in node.js and React

• Setup servers on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for both staging and production website

• Migrated the GCP hosted NoSQL DB (MongoDB) to external cloud hosted (MongoDB Atlas)

• Monitored performance and optimized operating parameters for the DB on Atlas

As part of a five-member team working to enable automation of the da Vinci surgical robot, I

• Developed OpenAI Gym environments for reinforcement learning with the goal to train the agent/model of the da Vinci surgical robot arm to learn optimal policies (sets of actions) in order to interact with simulated body tissue and perform complicated surgical tasks, such as sewing a wound

• Developed the dynamic model of the da Vinci arm in Gym using the V-REP software environment with scripts in Python and Lua to automate the model to successfully perform simple tasks such as reach a randomly selected goal position

• Developed another Gym environment to automate the endoscopic camera on the da Vinci to center objects in its frame using visual feed tracked with OpenCV (also known as visual servoing)

As a TA for Multivariate (of two or more variables) Calculus, I

• Held discussion (or problem-solving) sessions and consulting hours

• Periodically evaluated the learning progress of students via quizzes and examinations

• Individually guided 60 - 80 students and, with my co-TAs, evaluated the performance of over 150 undergraduate students enrolled in the course for six continuous quarters of study
