Develop and iterate on a financial planning app used by NM representatives to present plans. Worked with engineers, product managers, and QA across teams to gather requirements, implement features, and improve the app’s technical foundations. Primarily frontend with React/Redux and GraphQL, some Node backend.
Created features that display financial information to clients or explain financial concepts
Rearchitected app’s core data flows to decrease initial load time from ~20 seconds to ~5 seconds
Optimized the app’s build pipeline, dependencies, and assets to reduce bundle size by ~25%, build time from ~30 seconds to ~3 seconds, and enable hot-reloading while still supporting older browsers
Improved debugging tools to give testing and QA insight into the app’s financial data
Established code standards to reduce duplication, increase maintainability and performance

Worked on an agile, cross functional team of 6-9 people to create new features and iterate on ClassPass’s management portal for independent gyms. Gyms used it to manage classes, process visitors, and view detailed business reports. This involved both implementing features and collaborating with managers and designers on product specs and identifying technical issues. Primarily front end work with React/Redux and some back end programming in Python and Kotlin.
Delivered reporting features on vital business statistics like revenue, reservations and class performance from technical design through completion, including implementation, testing, rollout, addressing bugs, and communicating status throughout the process
Internationalized the portal to accommodate the widely varying needs of 30,000 monthly active users across 23 countries and 13 languages on different iterations of CP’s business model
Increased portal’s scaleablity and maintainability by improving and standardizing old features, converting old Angular pages into React, and adopting better code patterns and standards
Rewrote portal’s core routing logic so we could adopt modern web navigation software
Hired as a Software Engineer I, promoted to Software Engineer II on merit after 10 months
