Robotics is an upcoming field that is going to help humans from mundane repeatable tasks in the near future with advances in industrial and home automation, UAVs and self driving cars.

My strong desire and determination to learn about this exciting field  led me to pursue a graduate degree, specializing in Robotics and Control.

I'm a graduate from the University of Houston with a Master's in Electrical Engineering. I did my Bachelor's in Engineering from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, India, where I specialized in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The course work in Control Systems and Electronics has given me a strong foundation in the basic concepts, which kindled my interest in the field.

Further, the courses like Robot Kinematics, Machine Learning, Path-Planning  also helped enhance my knowledge. My research at the Robotics Swarm Control Lab at University of Houston helped polish my skill set. This includes:

• Simulation software: MATLAB
• Operating systems: Linux (Ubuntu)
• Programming languages: Python, C++

I have also presented two IEEE conference papers and one paper at SEG conference. I have  a journal paper in RA-L (IEEE), which is a leading journal in the field of robotics. This has given me immense exposure to technical writing, working with a group and asking the right questions.

I'm currently working as a Lead Robotics Software Engineer at Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies, Bay Area.

Assisted the maintenance department at the  Miniature Circuit Breaker(MCB) manufacturing unit at Chennai, India. Fault-analysis was performed  using a Thermal Imager. The resulting plots were analyzed for different types of faults. Reports were written to document the faults, that were prioritized for correction. Analysis was performed to discover the reasons for the fault to occur. Coordinated with the floor manager and the electricians to fix the faults, thereby improving efficiency.

Lucas TVS are leaders in producing electro-mechanical parts (motors) for an array of car manufacturers in India. During my internship I worked on various quality control tests on starter and viper motors,  in turn obtaining an in-depth knowledge on the production of motors. Assisted with rigorous failure tests on starter and wiper motors, thereby analyzing and suggesting windows of improvements.I utilized SCADA to simulate the motor valve and hence optimized energy consumption.
