Sponsor: Hawthorne & York, Intl, Phoenix. This project dealt with the deployment and testing of a parallel processing software system on a cluster of workstations. My role was to (a) prepare the test models for both finite element analysis (FEA) and design optimization (using PATRAN), (b) execute the test models and compare the answers against commercial programs (ABAQUS and ANSYS), and (c) tune the software system for optimal performance. I wrote reports summarizing the testing scheme and findings. Title: FAA Development of Reliable Methodologies for Fan Blade Out Containment Analysis. Sponsor: Federal Aviation Administration. This project dealt with testing and FEA modeling of projectile impact (blunt nose) against fabrics.
