# Stanley Lin > Software Engineer @ Stripe Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/stanleylin Hi! I’m Stanley and I’m a software developer experienced with full stack web development and mobile development. I graduated from Cornell University with a bachelors in Computer Science. I’ve worked at Stripe to help the company expand their Android SDK feature set for physical card readers. I’ve also been a software development intern at Amazon’s Lab126, where I work on developer tooling with the group’s DevOps team. I’ve also interned at Uber, where I worked in the former Advanced Technologies Group to help develop an autonomous vehicle. Other projects I’ve pursued in my free time include creating a ray tracing engine from scratch, building a REST API for a facial recognition system, and building various mobile apps. When I’m not at my computer, I enjoy skiing, swimming, and teaching myself the drums. I also know how to play the diabolo (feel free to ask me what it is)! I look forward to meeting you! Skills: Kotlin, Javascript, React.js, Python, Flask, AWS, Node.js, Java, JQuery, Android, C, Redux, Bootstrap, Flutter, HTML, CSS, Go, C++, SQL, MongoDB ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Stripe Jan 2022 – Present | New York, New York, United States Working on Agentic Payments Previously: Stripe Terminal ### Software Engineer Intern @ Stripe Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Seattle, Washington, United States - Enhanced existing Stripe Terminal Android SDK codebase and implemented new features to which were critical to expanding the Terminal card reader product to more global markets and users - Developed internal Android application with Jetpack Compose, Room database, Kotlin coroutines used to automatically generate test suites for card readers and for SDK - Updated user-facing documentation pages written in React to provide code samples and descriptions for continuously updated SDK features ### Software Development Engineer Intern @ Amazon Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Sunnyvale, California, United States - Optimized developer productivity by enhancing internal DevOps tooling built on Python Flask to manage over 6,000,000 Jira tickets for over 26,000 internal users - Architected autonomous notification service and information archival system using AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Fargate, SNS) and implemented using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) to improve user experience - Designed and stress-tested fault-tolerant full stack web features and backend service logic with HTML, JQuery, and Python and created extensive unit tests to verify functionality ### Computer Science Instructor @ Juni Learning Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Ithaca, New York - Facilitated classes for 15+ students aged 9-12 in topics ranging from Python, Java to data structures and algorithms - Crafted individualized learning plans to work through a standardized curriculum of nearly 20 lessons - Identified and implemented improvements to different curriculums utilized by 900+ instructors around the country ### Software Engineer Intern @ Uber Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Developed full stack bug reporting features using React.js, Redux, and Node.js in a geospatial web application used in the development of maps for an autonomous vehicle - Deployed and configured services built with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3) and Terraform to fetch 1000s of pointcloud data points collected by the vehicle to improve map visualizations - Enhanced visualization capabilities by utilizing deck.gl, a WebGL-powered framework to add geographic layer information - Tested critical backend service written in Go and interacted with Protocol Buffer data, utilized in the validation of map data to improve performance of downstream applications ### Project Lead @ Cornell Cup Robotics Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Ithaca, New York - Integrated external microphone and NVIDIA Jetson single-board computer hardware to create an onboard chatbot capable of responding to a set of queries - Devised a modularized Python program design for ease of development, spreading work across a 4 person team - Utilized natural language processing library NLTK to generate topic-relevant responses to queries ### CS Subteam Member @ Cornell Cup Robotics Jan 2018 – Jan 2019 | Ithaca, New York - Integrated open-source libraries with raspberry pi camera hardware to create a facial recognition program capable of learning faces of new people with 99% accuracy - Collaborated with other 3 subteams (electrical, mechanical, systems) to create an semi-autonomous lab assistant robot - Designed main software stack to utilize a client-server model, sending camera images on the robot to an external computation server, including support for RESTful API calls ### Undergraduate Researcher @ Cornell Robotic Personal Assistants Lab Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Ithaca, New York - Researched task-planning heuristics for instructing a robot to autonomously assemble furniture - Aggregated data from 3 types of hardware, including Kinect RGBD camera and in-house built electronics, to solve the peg-in-hole problem (placing a dowel into a hole with a robotic arm) - Utilized open-source computer vision library OpenCV for processing images from 2 different cameras ### Software Engineer Intern @ Sense Technologies Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | New York, NY - Worked directly on and refactored the production version of a movie-recommendation chatbot (a program that automatically responds to user messages) to follow industry standard programming styles - Designed and implemented an efficient method for broadcasting data to over 3000 users, increasing user retention by 50% - Overhauled database system to use MongoDB, dramatically increasing system capacity by 100% ### IT Intern @ NYC Health + Hospitals Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Elmhurst, NY - Provided technical assistance to doctors and administrative staff - Repaired over 100 PCs, installed critical software updates as an integral part of the IT group - Facilitated workflow of employees by streamlining the login system ## Education ### Bachelor of Science -
