# Talya Sasek > Senior Software Engineer at ClubLabs/AAA Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/talya Highly driven and resourceful software engineer specializing in JavaScript/React/Node.js. Co-creator of Andalusian, an open source microservices management platform. Recent speaker at Ethiq Software Engineering Speaker Series on Kubernetes and Docker Swarm. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ AAA Jan 2020 – Present | Los Angeles, California, United States ### Software Engineer | Andalusian @ Open Source Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 An open source microservices management platform. Utilized AWS SDK to make API calls to AWS services (Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, S3, and CloudDeploy), to provide rapid, traceable deployment and send data to the client via routers, providing high-level analytics to stateful React components. Employed Azure Core Tools and Google Cloud SDK to create, update, deploy and invoke microservices to Microsoft Cloud Computing and Google Cloud platforms, providing the client the ability to manage a variety of microservices in one place. Applied Docker to containerize applications to ensure compatibility and consistency of computing environments. Architected a Node.js/Express server with a number of routers to group relevant middleware for streamlined data flow between the user interface, database and asynchronous API calls. Leveraged Node’s implementation of non-blocking model to lower the complexity of receiving and responding to multiple clients, thus reducing buffer time and providing enhanced user experience. Leveraged Bcrypt’s one-way hashing feature to encrypt and store user specific data (user information and associated cloud platform account keys) for effortless management of microservices while securing data against malicious attacks. Implemented Victory Charts’ fully contained and reusable data visualization elements to assemble relevant microservice data on a time-series graph, within a responsive UI component, for heightened legibility and ease of use. Accelerated by OSLabs. ### Software Engineer | Puppuccino @ Open Source Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 An app to find playdates for dog owners. Developed Websocket protocol to establish a persistent connection to enable event-driven communication between users. Used React’s reusable component structure and virtual DOM to ensure faster rendering by only updating specific components. Deployed to an AWS EC2 instance in Elastic Beanstalk, utilizing it’s load balancing feature to scale and balance workloads. Engineered an API with RESTful architecture and PostgreSQL for an easily-maintainable data pipeline that is ACID compliant. Used Webpack to bundle files and dependencies into a single package in order to reduce overhead of multiple fetches from the server and serve files swiftly to the client, boosting performance and reducing development time by increasing efficiency. Applied CSS3 flexbox and grid for responsive content and mobile screens to create a dynamic layout and logically modularized styles across multiple components to improve developer experience by increasing maintainability and scalability. ### Software Engineer | Nighthawk @ Open Source Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 A dynamic utility that assists in navigating to and securing reservations at local venues. Leveraged React Hooks to manage state and use lifecycle methods within functional components and to minimize the implementation of class based components in favor of functional components in order to reduce file complexity. Initiated asynchronous Axios API requests via re-usable middleware and sent parsed response to frontend to rapidly serve client data while keeping application lightweight and avoiding the need for additional server requests and network latencies. Configured noSQL database with the ability to horizontally scale, handle high volume of requests and rapidly retrieve/log data. ### Software Engineer | TT Recorder @ Open Source Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 A voice controlled Chrome app. Incorporated speech recognition API to convert the user's voice into string and control the browser with vocal commands. Constructed an algorithm to parse through the vocal string and determine browser's behavior based on the incoming string. ### Project Manager @ Wise World Prep Jan 2016 – Jan 2019 | Greater Los Angeles Area Used HTML/CSS/WordPress to apply visual hierarchy and responsive design to web app to increase retention and sales. Lead monthly meetings with contract employees to ensure deadlines are being met and clients’ needs are being addressed. Analyzed operational practices and resigned processes to improve overall efficiency and profits of the company. ### Director Of Operations @ Dealflicks Jan 2013 – Jan 2015 | Greater Los Angeles Area Executed SQL queries on relational (MySQL) databases to swiftly sort and extract data for sales analysis and projection. Conducted weekly analysis based on key performance indicators, such as ticket sales and client acquisitions. ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Business Administration, Management and Operations University of Southern California Jan 2009 – Jan 2013 ### Bachelor of Science - Exchange Program in Business Administration and Management, General Erasmus University Rotterdam Jan 2011 – Jan 2012 ### Computer Software Engineering Codesmith Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/talyasasek - GitHub: https://github.com/talyasasek --- Source: https://flows.cv/talya JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/talya/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-23
