# Taneisha Arora > Software Engineer at Google Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/taneisha A lifelong student, motivated by the thrill of learning and excited by all things science, data, and statistics! ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Google Jan 2020 – Present | San Francisco, California, United States ### Participant @ GROW (Graduate Research Opportunities for Women) 2020 Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 The GROW 2020 conference is aimed at female-identified undergraduate students who may be interested in pursuing a graduate degree in the mathematical sciences. The conference is open to undergraduates from U.S. colleges and universities, including international students. This event is being supported by the Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation, the University of Chicago Department of Mathematics, and the National Science Foundation. ### Student Researcher under Michelle Nuno (PhD Student) @ University of California, Irvine Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 Analyzed of clinical data from a study conducted at the Alzhimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) at UCI, to determine the presence of the learning effect in the Letter Fluency Test ### Student Researcher under Professor Andre Van Der Hoek @ University of California, Irvine Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 Goal: Trying to reduce "undocumented knowledge" in software systems by building a mechanism to link developer code commits to issues reported in Issue Tracking Systems Tested the information retrieval approach, of generating a ranked list using tf-idf values and cosine similarity scores, against 20+ java-based open source projects of varying scale. For most of the 20+ projects, the IR approach resulted in true links between commit and issue showing up in the top 10 "most similar" issues at least 60% of the time. ### User Interface Developer @ Ureka Science Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 Developed features for mobile and web versions of the app using React-Native and React, respectively ### Software Engineering Intern @ Google Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Boulder, Colorado Wrote an RPC that handles upwards of 50000 queries per second to fix a bug in the notification scheduling system that would lead to erroneous server calls. Developed a set of internal debugging tools (can be found on Now-Debug) to allow developers to test the scheduling of Google Search Notifications. Wrote multiple RPC services (in C++), an API layer to communicate with the RPCs (in Java), and a UI in Angular JS that communicated with the Java server. ### Student and Researcher @ Summer Institute in Biostatistics Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 Attended a 6 week program at NC State and Duke Universities focused on conducting statistical analysis on clinical data, using SAS and R. Worked with an abridged version of the SYMPHONY Dataset from the NIH to determine which baseline factors are significant predictors of Myocardial Infarction. ### Lab Tutor @ University of California, Irvine Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 Taught and guided students taking Data Structures and Algorithms (in C++), Programming with Software Libraries (in Python 3), and Intermediate Programming (in Python 3). ### Mentor @ Dreams for Schools Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 Spread awareness about the potential career options in STEM (specifically Computer Science) by leading/mentoring a team 5 middle school students in android app development (using MIT's AppInventor) ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Data Science University of California, Irvine Jan 2016 – Jan 2020 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/taneisha-arora-04812b153 --- Source: https://flows.cv/taneisha JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/taneisha/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
