When I first began college at MIT, I searched for a career path that would allow me to balance my interest in understanding complex, technical problems with my desire to create imaginative, unique work. I found that I could interweave both these different sides of myself in computer science.

Proposed, storyboarded, and designed the project concept of a mobile interface intended for the daily management of depression

App assesses user's level of depression and provides catered suggestions, tracks depression levels over time, stores a safety plan for suicide prevention, and enables user to send alerts to emergency contacts

Implemented the front-end with a combination of React.js, CSS, and Node.js; integrated app with back-end service Firebase

Investigated the Amazon Web Services data-warehousing solution Redshift as a viable alternative to a MySQL setup

Prototyped a Redshift cluster and set up a database architecture and various warehouse settings

Migrated the team’s production data and 15 SQL queries to Redshift using command line tools

Benchmarked the query times against MySQL to show an overall exponential improvement, and implemented a randomized testing utility in Python for measuring Redshift’s performance
