Passionate about solving technical challenges that deliver a business and societal impact.  I've used lessons learned in 19 years of software development to hone in on building the right thing, with quality tools, deep understanding of the problem space, and strong teams.  

In my current role at Stripe, I created and lead the Usage-based Billing product.  As Stripe's largest API by volume, it's designed for 1M+ events / seconds, and provides real-time usage rating and analytics.

Previously, I was the Principal Software Architect at PayScale. Under my leadership, I developed and executed technical strategies and roadmaps to drive product development. In addition, I collaborated with executive leadership, stakeholders, and full-stack development teams to ensure that the company’s engineering support structure drove the business forward with minimal expenditures.

I have experience in software projects across a wide range of industries including HR compensation,  healthcare, transportation, fiber networks and telco, and the energy sector.  Working with fantastic domain experts to implement and up-level their own project outcomes is incredibly rewarding.  

A project that's been most satisfying was shipping a drug management platform to the State of North Carolina on a team of 2 with a 3 month timeline. The cost savings are projected at $250M over 10 years, but more significantly, individual components such as the antipsychotic drug registry has massively reduced the over-usage on children and adolescents.
