During my time at Gener8, I held a Design Engineering position where I assisted within a mechanical context on a wide variety of projects within the Biotech and Med Device space. I assisted in over a dozen projects within some capacity, big and small, depending on the phase and need of the project.
Initially, I functioned as the main staff Mech E for L'Oreals SkinCeuticals custom dose machine. During this project, I redesigned a liquid plunger dispenser to reduce assembly complexity and breakdowns in the field. Subsequently, I designed dozens of assembly fixtures as assisted heavily in ensuring the production line was running efficiently and smoothly.
In addition to my responsibilities for L'oreal, I was assigned to support operations for the design and manufacturing of Inscriptas Onyx Digital Genome engineering platform. For this project I conducted extensive thermal testing and prototyping for a bacterial growth and stasis module. Once that had been completed, I provided design and prototyping support to the senior mechanical engineers on the project. Lastly, I designed dozens of assembly fixtures and worked closely with the NPI team to bring up production of devices.
Near the end of my time at Gener8, I inherited the responsibility of acting as the lead mechanical engineer within Gener8 for Shotspotter and their next generation device to be deployed within 2023. I performed DFM for injection molded components to be manufactured in the thousands per year. Additionally, I provided DFA for this next generation device, and ordered and supported the logistics of procuring custom and OTS components for the production line.
Outside of my project responsibilities within Gener8, I was responsible for organizing creative engineering group activities to encourage collaboration, team building, and further socialization of project teams. Additionally, I was responsible for maintaining a vendors list for 100+ Mechanical Engineers.

During my time at Speck Design, I assisted on a wide array of projects, internal company improvements, and administrative tasks. My primary tasks were to support the lead design engineers and industrial designers within the various medical and consumer projects contracted by Speck. In support, I drafted engineering drawings, maintained and operated our internal shop, conducted research and development for material aspects and assembly procedures, and assisted in the design of various components as well as assembly fixtures. Internally, I started an "Innovation Box", meant to be stocked with inspirational materials, gadgets, and products. I also helped to reorganize the shop area to better facilitate project builds, material storage, and storage from past projects.
