Off the clock, Taylor enjoys mechanical keyboards, coffee, gardening and motorcycling. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer II: Web Tech Lead @ Polycam Jan 2022 – Present - Migrated large React app to NextJS and built fast, responsive landing pages focused on multiple target audiences. Introduced the team to SSR and converted over a dozen pages from clientside rendering to serverside, drastically improving page load performance and SEO. - Created a design system with simultaneous support for React web + React Native. Supported light/dark mode, responsive layout and typographic styles, and worked on Sass/SCSS integration for RN. Created guidelines and presented tutorials on how to write composable React components with forwardRef, inherited styles, and effective use of children. - Strongly vouched for accessibility and worked with individuals to make inputs, lists, and dynamic UI more screenreader friendly, while sharing knowledge from prior on the job experience in this field. - Developed SwiftUI views and used Combine event APIs for various screens on the Polycam iOS app, including all of the onscreen HUD guidance and keyframing for recording 360 panoramas (skyboxes) with CoreMotion. - Built Polycam’s Android app from scratch with one other person and launched on Google Play ahead of schedule. Responsible for creating UIs with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, adding support for billing and product entitlement through Google Play with Google Pub/Sub, and other feature development. - Contributed to platform bindings, enabling interop between a clientside C++ library cross compiled to Android, iOS, and WASM (web) targets with their host platforms. Wrote Emscripten, JNI, and Obj-C bindings and integrated them with UI views on each platform. ### Senior Software Engineer II @ Threadloom Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | Greater Seattle Area Taylor designed and built consumer facing websites and web apps at Threadloom. His responsibilities ranged from fullstack product development to branding and UI/UX design. Taylor helped lead Threadloom’s launch of Primary.org by creating the product’s logo, branding guidelines and interface design. As the company’s only frontend engineer, he used Next.js to deliver a responsive, serverside-rendered web application. Taylor also worked on REST APIs and GraphQL integration using Flask and SQLAlchemy in Python. He managed his own server deployments using NGINX, Docker and Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform. ### Lead Software Engineer @ T-Mobile Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | Bellevue, WA Taylor joined T-Mobile to work on the initial development and launch of DIGITS, a virtual phone app. With the company styleguide in hand, he designed an intuitive interface system centered around multitasking and ease of use. Taylor developed features including text messaging, audio and video calling, voicemail access, faxing, contact lists, and more. As one of four engineers developing the web client, he used WebRTC to help architect and build an accessible, responsive web application powered by AngularJS. After its launch in May 2017, Taylor migrated the codebase to ES6 and conducted training with the growing team on ES6, React, Sass, and Git. ### Frontend Developer @ Filter, LLC Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 | Seattle Taylor worked with a designer and a writer to build Filter’s marketing website in ASP.NET.
